Surface finishing is in the DNA of this specialist

Quality in product and service is paramount

When it comes to processing and refining surfaces, the name Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH certainly comes to mind. For more than eighty years, the German company with Benelux locations in Oss (Netherlands) and Tubize (Belgium) has stood for highest quality in the production of machines and systems for slide grinding and blasting technology. Since 2018, the family-owned company has also been focusing more strongly on 3D printing through the AM Solutions brand. Under the motto "Finding a better way ..." Rösler is always looking for better solutions.

When it comes to processing and refining surfaces, the name Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH certainly comes to mind.

Operating worldwide

Germany is the home of the Rösler Group, as the family-owned company has 95,000 m² of production and development facilities in Untermerzbach and Bad Staffelstein. However, this leading global player has more than 1,500 employees in a network of fifteen subsidiaries in the UK, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Romania, Russia, Brazil, China and the US. Furthermore, they can also count on one hundred and fifty agencies with extensive experience.

"The knowledge of all these people is our greatest capital, which is why we continuously invest in training our team. Since 2016, we have bundled all our training activities in the Rösler Academy," it sounds at Rösler in Tubize. "In addition, we push very hard on innovation and quality, because this allows us to score in the short term, but above all to grow further in the long term."

Slide grinding technology, blasting technology and more

Whether metal, plastic, ceramic or wood, or operations such as deburring, degreasing, mill scale removal, rust removal or polishing, Rösler's sliding grinding systems are almost infinitely applicable and have been proving their worth for years in aviation, automotive, medical, coin and jewelry production, to name but a few. At Rösler, they state, "A functional or aesthetic surface finish is crucial for any workpiece. Slide grinding technology polishes the surface smooth via media and compounds. As the market leader, we offer a practically unlimited range: from robust all-rounders, such as the rotary vibrator, through fully automatic systems, such as the drag and surf finisher, to automated linked systems."

This range also includes blasting machines, which can also be used for various surface treatments: deburring, scale removal, desanding and derusting through to roughing, matting, smoothing and edge rounding, as well as compacting or shot peening. Especially for machining metal surfaces, few technical processes are as versatile as the blasting technology. But Rösler's machines are also used to machine mineral building materials, such as concrete and sandstone, glass, textiles, wood and plastics.

"Long service life, low maintenance and innovative features are important USPs of our compressed air, turbine, post and plastic blasting machines," echoes Rösler. "In recent years, we have devoted a great deal of attention to the further development of the turbines, the heart of these blasting machines. Thanks to our patented Rösler turbine technology, the plants not only perform better, but also costs are significantly reduced."

By the way, in the range we also find a wide range of centrifuges for cleaning process water and industrial liquids.

And under the AM Solutions brand, the Rösler Group has been bundling all activities in the field of 3D printing since 2018: the automated post-processing solutions (3D post process technology) and a comprehensive service branch (Manufacturing service partner). The latest brand is Rösler Smart Solutions, which also includes digitization in its product portfolio.

Better and better...

Rösler has more than sixty years of experience in the production of process media. The result is a unique portfolio of about 15,000 products: ceramic and plastic chips, compounds, abrasives, polishing and drying media, and so on; and many customer-specific solutions. Under the motto "Finding a better way ..." they continue to invest in the development of solutions that deliver better results to the customer again and again.

"All products are developed by specialists in the central R&D department in Germany, but also, for example, in the Process Development Center of the Dutch subsidiary, which focuses on the development of custom-made finishing processes. Everything is thoroughly tested and optimized in the Customer Experience Centers (CEC). Customers from all Benelux countries and the border area with Germany can come to the CEC in Oss with all their questions. They can also outsource their surface operations to us, as we have a production department there with sliding grinding units, shot-blasting systems, centrifuges and machines for finishing 3D-printed parts," added Rösler. "Orders can be placed quickly from the fully automated warehouse in Germany, but in Oss we also have our own warehouse, from which we deliver chips, compounds, drying, cleaning and blasting agents to customers. A project does not stop at delivery, however, because we also guarantee the commissioning of machines, supply spare parts, provide training and support with processes. For this, we have our own service department and a professional team of field service technicians. Ultimately, what counts for customers is the quality of workmanship, and we want to guarantee them nothing but perfection in this area."
