Below you can read the official Privacy Statement of Louwers Mediagroep in Weert (NL) and Louwers Mediagroep in Oostkamp (B), hereinafter referred to as Louwers. This privacy statement has been prepared in accordance with legal provisions such as the Personal Data Protection Act and also with effect from May 25, 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

Louwers attaches great importance to your privacy. By means of this Privacy Statement, we inform you that we treat the data of our network of contacts with the utmost confidentiality and care. Personal data will only be processed in accordance with the aforementioned legal provisions.

What does this Privacy Statement apply to?
This Privacy Statement provides information about the processing of personal and business data by or on behalf of Louwers and relates solely to the use of personal and business data of its customers, suppliers and visitors to the website and users of Louwers' newsletters.

This Privacy Statement applies only to Louwers' websites, which are affiliated with the associated trade journals.

This privacy statement therefore does not apply to websites, newsletters and other media communication channels of third parties, such as, for example, the websites or apps to which Louwers refers on its websites and in its mailings/newsletters. We advise you to consult the privacy policies of these third parties on the relevant websites.

In what ways do we collect personal data?
Louwers may receive information from you in the following ways:

  • Directly from you: For example, by entering into a contract with us, when you contact us by e-mail, telephone or in writing, or by subscribing to our newsletter.
  • Through third parties: we regularly use the services of third parties, such as external ZZPs and freelancers, who work as editors or photographers for our magazines and websites. These third parties then act on behalf of Louwers. This Privacy Statement also applies to data collected through these third parties when they act on behalf of Louwers and its affiliated websites, newsletters and trade magazines. We are not responsible for the collection of data not on behalf of Louwers. In this context, we refer you to the privacy policies of these relevant third parties.
  • Through own initial acquisition: Louwers is a commercial organization that performs acquisition within the target groups of the various trade magazines on many different prospects. We manage this also externally obtained data exclusively for our own acquisition purposes.

What personal data do we collect?
Louwers may process personal and business data because you use Louwers' services and products or because you have provided it to us yourself when completing, for example, a contact form on one of Louwers' trade magazine websites.

Louwers may process - depending on the contact options you use - the following personal and business data:

  • Contact and account information - such as the first and last name you provide, address information, including zip code, landline and/or mobile phone number, email address(es) and any login information.
  • Job titles of individuals within organizations for the purpose of proper addressing by us and approach in connection with our acquisition purposes.
  • Dates and times of appointments made by our editors and photographers.
  • Payment and billing information - in case you have entered into an agreement with us - such as for financial processing your bank details, registration number at the Chamber of Commerce and VAT numbers.
  • Technical browser information; Cookie ID; Click and browsing behavior.

Why do we collect your personal data?
Louwers uses the personal and company data obtained in the first instance to be able to execute the agreements entered into as well as possible. The personal and company data obtained are also used for Louwers' internal administration.

Here you can think of:

  • To maintain and improve the contractual relationship with (potential) customers, the relationship network, suppliers, external self-employed professionals and freelancers such as photographers and editors with whom we work or for improving Louwers' services and products.
  • To inform about Louwers' activities by sending informative digital newsletters.
  • Handling complaints and compliments.
  • Making offers for our acquisition purposes.
  • To apply and implement all legal obligations arising from the Data Protection Act and the General Data Regulation.

Louwers' various trade publications each have their own website and newsletter system. Louwers regularly sends newsletters by e-mail. If you believe that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, you can use the legally required unsubscribe link, which is included in the digital newsletter.

With whom do we share your personal and business information?
Louwers may share your personal and company data with its own employees for the purpose of acquisition purposes for the organization, with the externally hired freelancers such as photographers and editors, who will then contact you at the behest of Louwers to perform various work for the respective websites, newsletters and/or the aforementioned trade magazines.

Louwers may be required to provide your personal and business data because of a legal obligation incumbent on Louwers and/or in response to urgent requests to do so by the authorities.

In the latter case, Louwers has taken the necessary organizational and contractual measures to ensure that personal data are processed and protected in accordance with European and Dutch law.

How long do we keep your data?
Louwers will not retain your data longer than necessary for the performance of the agreements and in any case no longer than 5 years after the agreement has been terminated, unless this is necessary to comply with a legal retention obligation, as expressed in laws and regulations of, for example, the Tax Office.

How will your personal and business data be secured? 
Louwers has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure all data against loss or against any form of unlawful processing. Louwers has adopted an information security policy and taken physical, organizational and electronic measures in compliance with it.
