The added value of Lecot
"Sustainability, cost efficiency and working safely, taking productivity into account. These are important values to which we, as well as the customers, attach great importance," states Yvan De Sitter. He is in charge of the Industry Department at Lecot.
With 135 years of existence, Lecot is now an established player in Belgium. The wholesaler for construction and industry offers various product categories ranging from tools to protective clothing, construction hardware, electricity, welding techniques, and so on. "Our business is to unburden customers by thinking with them to increase efficiency within their operations," says De Sitter. "In order to provide even better support to customers within the industry, we have set up an Industry Department at Lecot since last year so that we can provide even better personalized advice with our specialists."
He gives a great example of how Lecot's solutions can lead to higher efficiency and lower handling costs.
"In one company, employees were walking to the warehouse on occasion to get PPE, lubricants, accessories and other consumables that would allow them to do their jobs safely and properly. However, there was little control over consumption, which sometimes caused inventory to dwindle faster than expected. The solution for this client was to install a vending machine - similar to a beverage dispenser - where employees can use their badges to pick up the products they need. If only a few of a product - for example, size 7 gloves - are still in stock, they are automatically reordered. The solution reduces handling costs as well as providing more control over who uses what and how much."

"By setting up the Industry Department and investing in training for our employees, we can assist our customers with specialist knowledge. We don't want to sell them mere products, but really offer solutions that add value. This leads to higher productivity, satisfied customers and long-term relationships."
