Hanwha: Specialist in Swisstype long-turners

Hanwha is a Korean machine builder and a direct neighbor of DN Solutions, one of Dormac's key partners. Whereas DN Solutions provides a wide range of CNC lathes, Hanwha stands out as a pure specialist in Swisstype technology.

"This aligns perfectly with the needs of our customers," says Bas Wijnhoven, Technical Sales Manager at Dormac CNC Solutions. "Swisstype turning is a niche market that is growing rapidly in the Netherlands. Hanwha develops its machines quickly and thoughtfully, allowing end users to benefit from better performance, higher production speeds and maximum reliability."

Optimal precision for complex parts

Swisstype lathes are designed for the serial production from small, complex precision metal parts. The design with a guide bushing ensures that the workpiece is always supported close to the spindle, which minimizes vibration and ensures stable and accurate machining.

Originally developed for the watch industry, Swisstype lathes are widely used today in the automotive, medical and electronics industries. Hanwha's models offer innovative capabilities, including a double Y-axis and B-axis, which enables advanced milling operations and complex contours in a single fixture.

Wide range with flexible configurations

Hanwha supplies a wide range of models suitable for rod material from <20 mm to 42 mm. In the Dutch market, especially the 20 mm and 26 mm versions popular. Depending on customer needs, the machine can be equipped with:
Subspil for simultaneous turning
Second Y-axis For complex milling operations
B axis for advanced angular operations
Controls of your choice: Siemens or Fanuc

"Many of our customers are used to choosing between Siemens and Fanuc, just as with DN Solutions' lathes," said Bas Wijnhoven. "This makes the switch to Swisstype turning even easier."

Another advantage is that Swisstype runs typically executed in oil instead of emulsion, which contributes to a more stable production process. Dormac also offers additional solutions to further optimize this process.

Efficient mass production with maximum reliability

Hanwha Swisstype lathes are ideally suited for companies that want to improve their Want to expand production capacity with fast and reliable mass production. Thanks to 24/7 production capacity, combined with a barfeeder, these machines can produce thousands of pieces per day.

"For machinists who regularly receive requests for large series in addition to their standard turning work, this can be a gamechanger are," Bas explains. "In a conventional turning process, large series are sometimes not economically feasible. With Swisstype turning, these productions can indeed be done profitably."

Support and expertise from Dormac CNC Solutions

As Hanwha's exclusive supplier in the Netherlands, Dormac offers full support in implementing Swisstype technology. This is in line with the company's long-term vision, which focuses on innovation, automation and service-oriented solutions for the machining industry.

"We accompany customers from the first conversation to complete process optimization," says Bas. "Our service does not stop with the delivery of a machine. We support programming, automation and unmanned production, so that companies get the maximum return on their investment."

Hanwha also has a European office near Frankfurt (Germany), where spare parts are in stock and training can be attended. In addition, part of the European stock is located in the Netherlands, allowing quick deliveries guaranteed.
