Not just another editing center
The great thing about these machines is that for every order that comes in, the user can choose the most cost-effective production method. How they can make pieces the fastest and most efficiently.

Not just another machining center

Those who build prototypes, single pieces or small series often think that automation is not an option. Nothing could be further from the truth, as XYZ has been making a difference in this market for years with its ProtoTRAK control. In no time, the accessible, Dutch-language dialogue control helps you make even the most complex pieces, without CNC knowledge. With the latest addition to the range, a 3-in-1 milling machine, you get an extra option. You can now choose the most cost-effective way to create a piece: manually, via teach-in or via G-code. Curious? Crispyn Machines will introduce the new TMC series during its introduction days between February 20 and March 3. Or you can also get to know them extensively at Machineering

At the request of customers who want to take the next step in their production, XYZ machines is now entering the machining center market. But with a unique concept.

A machining center is an extremely flexible machine. After all, the presence of a tool magazine makes it possible to finish even complex pieces from a to z in one setup.

"The construction of machining centers at the classic brands is largely similar. The difference is in the details to work just a little faster, more accurately or more efficiently. At the request of customers who want to take the next step in their production, XYZ machines is now also entering this market. But with a unique concept, in line with the philosophy of the ProtoTRAK control that users worldwide know and appreciate", says Jan Crispyn of Crispyn Machines, distributor of the XYZ machines for Belgium.

Unique ProtoTRAK control

With its turning and milling machines, XYZ machines wanted to fill a gap in the market since its inception in the 1980s.

"A machine that gives users of prototypes, single pieces and small series access to automation in an approachable way. That was the starting point. Using the ProtoTRAK dialog control, an operator need only enter the correct dimensions and cutting data for his piece. The machine then draws the piece on the screen itself; so you are turning or milling at lightning speed. In-depth CNC knowledge is not required - after just one day of training, anyone is up and running with it."

A formula that had been catching on in its home markets of Great Britain and the United States for some time, and now, thanks to the efforts of Crispyn Machines, has made its way over to ours. "Those who have tried it once don't want to go back. Users are really presented with a unique machine because they can still turn or mill manually."

A tool changer was added, allowing the move to even greater automation. In addition, users who already program offline in CAD/CAM programs can now start reading those G-codes, dxf or parasolid files with ProtoTRAK.

Always fastest and most efficient production method

But what then when small series are added or the pieces require even more machining? For them too, XYZ now opens the way to efficient and highly flexible production.

"The TMC series retains manual operation and the unique ProtoTRAK control, but adds an extra dimension. A tool changer was added, allowing the move to even more automation. In addition, users who already program offline in CAD/CAM programs can now start reading those G-codes, dxf or parasolid files with ProtoTRAK. Perfect for complex work or 3D simultaneous milling. The beauty of this machine is that for every order that comes in, the user can therefore choose the most cost-effective production method. How they can make pieces fastest and most efficiently. And that's really unique in the market," Crispyn sums it up.

So in terms of appearance, TMC machining centers may look largely the same as those of other brands, but the three wheels for manual operation betray that they have a lot more to offer.

Four models to choose from

So in terms of appearance, TMC machining centers may look largely the same as those of other brands, but the three wheels for manual operation betray that they have a lot more to offer. There are four models in all, ranging in range from 500, 700, 1,000 to 1,600 mm.

"You shouldn't expect the same bells and whistles as machining centers built for high volume machining. But the TMC series did come with all the upgrades needed to take the next steps in automation for those producing single pieces or small series. For example, it is fully enclosed, keeping chips inside and perfectly in place in a modern and safe workshop. In addition, the capability went into crescendo to offer even more possibilities."

"Crispyn Machines is hosting introductory days from February 20 through March 3. During these days we will demonstrate the TMC, and we will personally welcome each visitor with a gift. Reserve your attendance at https://www.crispyn.be/opendagen. Because they are even more convincing, if you can show all the possibilities."
