At EMO, Siemens presented the expansion of its range of products and services with the "Digital Native" CNC Sinumerik One. The new CNC generation from Siemens, launched in 2019, can boast numerous innovations in software and hardware. The new Sinumerik software version V6.22 introduces new technology functions for the Sinumerik One that increase transparency in the machine, simplify operation, reduce machine wear and improve performance. This leads to optimal use of available resources, for example by reducing waste and the number of repairs. It also helps increase machine productivity by minimizing downtime and production interruptions, for example.
With the simple and familiar Ctrl-E key combination on the control panel, Sinumerik One makes a quick evaluation of the machine's energy consumption. This function provides an overview of the most important factors in terms of energy consumption and offers the possibility to easily create and manage machine profiles. New in software version V6.22 is the function for improved spindle acceleration (Balanced Spindle Acceleration). The acceleration of the spindle is automatically adjusted so that the programmed spindle speed is reached only when needed. This reduces the acceleration current and thermal losses of the spindle motor, and this in turn reduces the consumption of electrical energy during spindle operation. This is especially interesting when tools are changed frequently. In addition, by minimizing spindle acceleration, the mechanical load also decreases, which increases spindle life.
Simple and intuitive operation is a top priority for the Sinumerik One HMI portfolio. With the scalable portfolio of 15″ and 24″ multitouch panels and matching control panels, the flexibility and adaptability requirements of modern multifunction machine tools are met. New to the portfolio are the Sinumerik One Machine Control Panels (MCPs) 1900 plus, 1500 and the matching QWERTY keyboards. Not only for the hardware, but also for the software, the focus is on flexibility and customization. The Sinumerik Operate Display Manager makes it very easy to implement a customized interface that adapts not only to different screen sizes, but also to the individual needs of the operator. The Display Manager makes it possible to clearly display videos and PDFs, for example, in different customizable layouts. To meet the ever-increasing performance requirements of the HMI software, the new IPC generations (Simatic IPC 2x7G and Simatic IPC BX/PX-39A) will be used in the future. The novelties in the Sinumerik One HMI portfolio guarantee a consistent and scalable hardware concept.
Sinumerik One not only offers numerous advantages over its predecessor Sinumerik 840D sl, but is also perfectly compatible in use and programming. This means that the operator does not need any new training and programs and cycles can be reused. Result: reduced costs and smoother introduction of the new generation of machines.
