"We are family businesses with a lot of passion for our profession. From the first moment, half a word was enough," says deputy director Danny Pouilliers.
In recent years, family-owned Pouilliers has specialized in laser cutting, bending, welding and turning. The company mainly processes stainless steel, steel and aluminum for a variety of sectors. Since late November, the Halle-based company has been adding a new specialty to its operations: deburring and edge rounding. "Our goal is to provide an extra service to our existing customers as well as attract more new customers," says Pouilliers.
Pouilliers set out to find the right machine. "Important for us is a user-friendly interface and fast changeover times when you are handling different material types in succession," he says. Through LVD, Q-Fin's partner company, it sought collaboration with Q-Fin Quality Finishing Machines. This company from Bergeijk, Netherlands, manufactures machines for deburring, rounding and finishing metal sheet metal parts and systems that extract grinding dust. "There was a good click right away," says Bas Versloot, sales manager at Q-Fin. "Just like Pouilliers, we also attach great importance to providing good service and quality. Our machines are solid, but at the same time very easy to use, while doing the work at high speed."
The choice was the Ultimate Set from Q-Fin. This set consists of an F1200 deburring and grinding machine for sheet metal up to 1,200 mm wide, an F200 XL for small sheet metal parts from 10 to 200 mm wide, and a WES6000 wet-acting extractor for grinding dust extraction.
Deburring is a new operation for Pouilliers. To get started quickly, Q-Fin provided internal training. Versloot: "In about half a day we taught the employees in a very practical way. We did this using products that are cut at this location. This immediately gave the employees a good idea of what is possible in their own production environment with familiar applications."
Meanwhile, a new phase has begun. Pouilliers: "We are now going to work intensively with the machines. I expect that questions will continue to arise regularly in the coming period. Even in this phase we will be able to continue to call on Q-Fin's expertise." Versloot adds: "The sale is only one aspect. The process of aftercare is many times more important. Ultimately, we have a common goal, and that is to be able to offer the market high quality. The better we can help Pouilliers in this, the better the quality of the product at the end customer." With the combination of a small and a large deburring machine, Pouilliers can now finish and radius the entire range of sheet metal from very small to the largest sheet metal parts.
Good communication and cooperation is the foundation. Pouilliers: "Since the first conversation, we understand each other and often half a word is enough. Why is that? Both Q-Fin, LVD and Pouilliers are family businesses where the family is still at the helm. We have a lot of passion for our profession and we want to put our shoulders to the wheel together to provide the end customer with the very best service. I am confident that we can make this happen with the new deburring machines."
