More than 33 years ago, Sir John bv was founded. In the following years, the company specialized in the surface treatment of stainless steel and aluminum. For this it cooperates with various (foreign) experts, including Pelox as one of the larger producers in Europe, with its own pickling hall, laboratory and the possibility of electrolytic polishing. The company also supplies the products of Avesta Finishing Chemicals and has the brands Antox, TIG Brush weld seam cleaning equipment and Birchwood products for chemical blackening in its product range. 

Importance of proper treatment

Treatment and cleaning of stainless steel and aluminum are necessary to bring and keep the material in top condition. 

Treatment can be done in several ways. Chemical surface treatment means that a thin surface layer (less than 4 microns) is removed. This gives the material its typical light gray stainless steel color. The material can also be electro-polished, where a surface layer between 10 and 40 microns is removed based on an electrochemical process, resulting in a smooth and polished product. Finally, surfaces can be passivated: a treatment that simplifies the natural layer of transparent oxide and does not change the appearance of the stainless steel. There are also cleaners that loosen surface contamination without removing a layer of material. With these, for example, oil and grease, glue, sticker and foil residues as well as marker pens and stamp marks can be removed.

Products

For all these operations, Sir John's program provides various products. For surface treatment, the company mainly supplies Pelox pickling pastes, spray stains and bath stains. From the same supplier are also the RP passivating agents. In addition, the various cleaning agents for both stainless steel and aluminum treatment. Naturally, all equipment and tools are also available with which the various products can be applied and processed. From brushes and acid resistant pumps to atomizers and acid resistant clothing.

Over the years, based on market demands, the product range has been expanded to include related products. For example, the TIG Brush weld seam cleaners, but also a complete service package around pickling baths, where Sir John supplies the right pickling products but also collects the spent liquids and waste water again. In addition, the company performs the necessary analyses to ensure optimal and efficient use of the pickling bath.

In-house wastewater treatment

Finally, notable in the program is the Ecomatic wastewater treatment unit for treating industrial process water. The unit can be precisely tuned to different types of industrial rinsing and wastewater, with the various functions - including dosing - running automatically via the PLC. The maintenance-free and easy-to-install unit thus offers companies the opportunity to clean their own process water in such a way that it may be discharged in accordance with laws and regulations.
