Good service is as important as a powerful machine

Emphasis even more on support, repairs and maintenance

Of course one looks at performance when investing in a machine, but the service of the manufacturer and/or distributor is often just as decisive. After all, downtime is unacceptable for a manufacturing company. At MT Service the emphasis in recent years has been on technical support, repairs and maintenance. They also further focus on the distribution of machines of quality brands, including MAS, TOS Varnsdorf, MTE and Giminis.

MT Service, created in October 2006 from STIMAC's technical service, has never lost its affinity for repairs, maintenance and overhaul. More than that, they have recently profiled themselves even more as a specialist in after-sales service.

"Our employees are responsible for the commissioning of new machines, as well as repairs, maintenance and overhaul of machine tools, whether purchased from us or not. Finally, we provide training in the programming of CNC controls of the brands Heidenhain, Fagor, Fanuc and Siemens," says Otakar Ungerman, who, together with Jo Van Overwalle, continues to expand the company. "In that service lies the key to our success, which is why we continue to invest heavily in it. In addition to the headquarters in Anderlecht (Brussels), we opened an additional office in Liège and the team was further expanded. We now have six people in the office and seven on the road. Due to the increasing demand, we continue to look for new employees and also have to rely more and more on subcontractors."

Quality from the Czech Republic and Spain

Of course, MT Service is also known as a distributor of metalworking machines of quality brands, TOS, RETOS, Trens, TOS Vornsdurf, Hulin, such as, Geminis, ZPS Tajmac, TOS Kurim, CKD Blansko, Skoda Machine Tool, Kovosvit MAS and MTE.

The headquarters of Kovosvit MAS is located in the Czech town of Sezimovo Ústí. This company, with its own foundry, has a tradition of more than eighty years in the production and development of machine tools. Their product range includes CNC lathes, milling centers, five-axis machining centers and special custom developments. Their main focus is on subcontractors for the automotive, energy, aerospace and mechanical engineering industries, but of course the machines are also used in other sectors. 

"Varnsdorf, also in the Czech Republic, is home to our partner TOS. This company grew into a world player in the production of horizontal boring mills. Innovation is the key word in everything they do. As a family business, they manage to move quickly and bring the right machines and solutions to the market. Almost all components, such as milling heads, spindles, tables, and so on, are manufactured in-house," Ungerman explains. "This manufacturer opts for standard lines with great modularity, which simplifies factory assembly. Customers can decide for themselves what bells and whistles to add to the basic concept. However, the operation for the operators always remains simple." 

MTE (Machine Tool Engineering) is located in Itziar, a small town in the Spanish Basque Country, located in a region with a strong tradition in mechanical engineering. This machine tool engineering company specializes in bed milling centers with universal machining head, combined with a moving table or movable column. Its engineers and technicians develop, machine and assemble all the core components for the machines in-house - from the machine bed to the milling heads.

Pushing boundaries together

"The names Kovosvit MAS, TOS Varnsdorf and MTE are synonymous with quality, flexibility, productivity and reliability. However, these brands also know that the machines on the market differ only slightly from each other when it comes to performance and user-friendliness. Above all, they can distinguish themselves with service," Ungerman concludes. "For that, they can count on the expertise and commitment of our people. Together with Jo van Overwalle, by the way, I founded TOS France, a subsidiary of MT Service with which we can support customers on the French market with high-quality machines and our well-known service. Together with our manufacturers, we continue to work hard to push boundaries for our customers."
