thyssenkrupp Materials Netherlands is expanding its product range with bluemint® steel, the CO2 reduced steel from thyssenkrupp Steel Europe. With this, thyssenkrupp Materials Netherlands targets metal processing companies that want to reduce their carbon footprint and make an active contribution to greening the industrial value chains.
In bluemint® recycled steel, part of the iron ore is replaced with high-quality recycled steel scrap. This process uses less coal during production, resulting in a drastic reduction in CO2-emissions. With a CO2-reduction of up to 64% compared to traditional steel, bluemint® steel offers a solution for companies looking to reduce their Scope 3 emissions and achieve their sustainability goals. In addition, the bluemint® production process is independently verified by international certification bodies such as DNV and TÜV Süd, and is in line with the internationally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This ensures that customers can confidently choose a sustainable solution.
Known for its strength and versatility, S355 steel is widely used in construction, mechanical engineering and infrastructure. The addition of bluemint® S355MC to the range combines the high-quality properties of structural steel with significantly lower CO2, giving metal processing companies now a sustainable choice without compromising on quality. The plates are in stock at thyssenkrupp warehouses and are available in various standard sizes. They can be custom decoiled and combined with other steel products in the range.
With the addition of bluemint® S355 plates, thyssenkrupp Materials Netherlands is taking another step in its mission to offer sustainable alternatives to the industry. "Bluemint® steel is not only an innovative product, but also a crucial building block for a greener future," said Peter Henne, Managing Director of thyssenkrupp Materials Netherlands. "We offer our customers the opportunity to accelerate their sustainability transition without compromising on quality."
