Manufacturing companies in the metal sector are taking the plunge into automation and digitization. TopSolid Belgium supports them in this with integrated 3D CAD/CAM software. TopSolid'Steel

With TopSolid'Steel, any type of steel structure - stairs, balustrade... - with any requirement (size, material, complex shape) can be designed. Draftsmen can design based on profiles, sheet steel, mechanical parts... combining different materials (steel, wood, glass, composite, plastic, stone...). This software includes a complete sheet metal module and numerous libraries with, for example, profiles, fittings and standard materials. TopSolid'Steel is parametric and associative. A change in the 3D automatically leads to an update of the production documents. This saves valuable time and reduces the risk of errors. 

"Recently, additional libraries and new functionalities were added, for example a configurator to combine aspects and automate the process to some extent. Work was also done on visualization. With photomapping, photos and 3D designs can be mixed, for example to send renders to the end customer," adds business manager Pieter Cornelis. "Finally, via Work Documents, one can automatically generate profile lists, parts lists, sheet metal... from the 3D design with one push of a button. Since this used to have to be done manually, this automation means an enormous time saving."

TopSolid'Cam

With TopSolid'Cam, the software house offers a global CAD/CAM solution that allows easy and consistent control of milling centers, lathes, turning milling systems or five-axis machining centers. Reliable and accurate simulations result in flawless production. This package includes extensive libraries of tools and cutting conditions, and tolerances are managed with the FreeShape Tool.
