CORPORATE TEXTILES IN A FULL-SERVICE SYSTEM
From 42 branches across Europe, MEWA supplies companies with professional and safety clothing, wiping cloths, oil and foot mats, as well as washbasins for full-service parts cleaning. In addition, articles for occupational safety can also be ordered under the "World Wide Work by MEWA" brand.
MEWA, founded in 1908, is today a leader in the textile management segment. The MEWA service system offers a time-saving and professional alternative to purchasing textiles. Textile management at MEWA means provision, delivery and collection at agreed times, washing and finishing, repair and replacement in case of wear and tear.
The corporate group has about 4,900 employees serving a total of 172,000 customers from industry, trade, construction, crafts and gastronomy.
MEWA's branch office in Belgium operates in Binche. MEWA Binche has 195 employees. 7200 contractual customers from various sectors - from garages to printing companies, from metal processing companies to the food industry - entrust the professional care of their reusable cleaning cloths and workwear to MEWA.
MEWA Binche processes about 180,000 garments every month. Some 40,200 wearers go onto the shop floor in work clothes from one of MEWA's collections. So that each wearer always gets back their own vest, pants, smock or overall, each garment is barcoded. Thanks to the IT-controlled identification system, the route through the care process from purchase to delivery can be followed precisely.
For the approximately 1.9 million monthly cleaning cloths, the 4,500 foot mats and the 2,400 towel rolls, special washing lines are used each time. MEWA offers not only the best cloths, but also the best machines for processing and highly qualified, motivated employees.
Conscious handling of water, air and energy are among MEWA's basic principles. Modern washing processes, computer-controlled dosing and control systems, reuse of washing and rinsing water and a physical-chemical-biological process for wastewater treatment all contribute to sustainable operations.
