New entry-level model of successful sheet metal storage tower

The orderly storage of materials and the automation of intralogistics processes increase productivity and reduce production costs. Remmert specializes in the design, production and assembly of modular storage systems and automation solutions, fully tailored to the needs of each application. The BASIC Tower from the Löhne, Germany-based company allows plates and other flat materials to be stored close to production in a very limited space. At the TechniShow, Remmert presented the BASIC Tower EASY, a simplified entry-level model at an attractive price.

Family company Remmert specializes in highly automated storage and intralogistics for the metal processing sector. The range includes long goods storage systems, plate warehouses, storage technology and warehouse cranes for special applications, as well as a variety of automation solutions, automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and logistics software packages. After all, by optimizing the storage and flow of materials, metalworkers can greatly increase productivity. The solutions are characterized by a high degree of automation and flexibility, as well as seamless integration into existing infrastructures.

BASIC Tower slab warehouse

With the BASIC Tower, Remmert offers a compact solution for automated storage of smaller quantities of plates in working environments. As a single or double tower, this fully automated tower warehouse offers up to 65 storage spaces for sheets. The system has a load capacity of 3,000 kg and a loading height of 90 mm per pallet. The BASIC Tower is optimized for flexible integration directly next to laser cutting systems and other sheet metal working machines from different manufacturers. This solution is assembled very quickly thanks to the plug-and-run concept and is equipped with intuitive operation via a touch screen.

Simplified model: BASIC Tower EASY

For applications requiring only an automatic warehouse solution without system integration, Remmert presented the BASIC Tower EASY at its booth during the TechniShow. Here the functions are limited to the main task, storage, making this solution very attractively priced.

"This single tower is available in two different heights and can be placed freestanding near production machines. The integrated stacker fully automatically raises the system pallets to an ergonomic working height. Compared to simple sheet warehouses, this system does not require the operator to use a forklift to move individual sheets. The time and space required for storage and manual handling are significantly reduced" explains regional sales manager Roy Franssen. "All controls are centrally and intuitively located. Simply select the desired storage compartment on the touch display, the rest is done by the stacker. The safety devices thereby ensure hazard-free operation. As an option, Remmert offers storage management as a software extension, which can also be incorporated into an ERP system."
