"The industry faces a number of challenges: higher production costs, a shortage of technicians, competitive pressure, and stand times can often be improved. Three years ago, Hoffmann Group therefore introduced the Garant robot loading system to the market in Germany. Now we also offer the system in Belgium and the Netherlands," says Peter Jansen, automation specialist at Hoffmann Group.
The Garant robotic loading system offers several advantages, says Jansen. "A first is the connectivity. We work without an interface and, in addition, we do not interfere with the CNC control, but communicate with about six external signals that we take from the machine via sensors. This allows us to equip any machine, regardless of age, with our loading robot."
"The loading system features a table that users can configure as they wish, depending on the products they want to load. The grid plates are equipped with appropriate cutouts so that products can be neatly positioned. By interchanging these plates, switching to another product can also be done very quickly. The system is equipped with an industrial robot arm, a quick-change system to change grippers quickly, and has a load capacity of up to 12 kilograms."
"The system is very flexible and can be used without fencing, as it uses a floor scanner. Once an operator approaches the robot, it will pause, while resuming operations when the operator leaves the scanned area around the robot again."
Another advantage is that the loading robot can be put into service quickly. "During the initial discussions with the customer, we already take their product that they want to automate. Then we set up the system so that installation on site will go very smoothly. Within three to five days the installation, including training, is ready. So the customer has a flying start right away and can benefit very quickly from the time savings they can achieve with the machine."
