An efficiently arranged warehouse increases productivity, provides cost savings, and prevents employee annoyance. Anyone looking for a suitable storage system can contact DDD Technics in Stekene. This company is an official partner of Hänel Büro- & Lagersysteme for the Rotomat® warehouse elevator and the Lean-Lift® platform lift system. Together with a Belgian partner, they also design, engineer, manufacture and install compact vertical plate warehouses. Furthermore, DDD Technics supports its customers in relocation or sales, maintenance or repair of systems 24/7.
Anyone looking to store small parts, components and other materials more efficiently can choose from a variety of systems at DDD Technics. For example, the Rotomat® warehouse elevator and the Lean-Lift® platform lift system make maximum use of the available height of the space up to 18 meters. Depending on the application, systems of different sizes and weights, stand-alone or coupled are possible. They automatically bring the retrieved article to the work opening within seconds, where it can be taken out at an ergonomic height by the operator. They are also available with simple and smart controls, including the SOAP web service interface, the HänelSoft® software package and linkage to Augmented-Reality and Pick-by-Voice.
"The Hänel Rotomat® is available in several models with a standard width of 3270 or 3420 mm and different depths, good for a load capacity per carrier set between 150 and 750 kg and between 3,000 and 14,000 kg for the complete system," explains Dirk De Decker, business manager of DDD Technics. "At Vanhauwaert, constructor of processing lines for flax, hemp and other natural fibers in Kuurne, they have more than 60% more storage capacity thanks to a Rotomat® with a height of 5470 mm, a depth of 1615 mm and 3420 mm wide. The elevator includes 20 turning units, half of them with an intermediate shelf."
The Lean-Lift® exists in models from 840 to 4460 mm wide, with a choice of four different depths: 635, 825, 1047 and 1270 mm for the storage of goods with weights ranging from 300 to 1,000 kg per platform and a maximum payload per system of 60,000 kg.
"Our Lean-Lift® platform lift systems are used for the compact storage of all kinds of materials, which were previously scattered everywhere in racks and cabinets, including at balustrade manufacturer Lammertyn (Ardooie), Merlier Grinding & Machinery (Zwevegem), Metal Construction Vanderscheuren (Diksmuide), agricultural machinery manufacturer VDW Constructies (Waarschoot) and A&C Noyens (Olen), where they produce custom trailers, semi-trailers and trucks," indicates technical commercial representative Chris Cherretté. "Renson (Kruisem), a specialist in ventilation, awnings and patio covers, uses a Lean-Lift® to store powders for its paint shop. Sanha (Ternat) bought two warehouses for storing heavy dies and a unit for cartons of finished products. At Joris Ide (Wingene), the warehouses are an important link in the automatic production line. Flat sheets are manually loaded on the trays and a robot takes them out of the elevator and places them on the belt of the production line. And these are just a few examples."
For the storage of metal sheets in limited space, DDD Technics also offers vertical sheet warehouses under its own label. For this they work with a Belgian partner, who takes care of the engineering and production.
"Everything is first worked out in 3D, after which we look at the technical side together with the customer, particularly the integration in the production hall, the location of the control panel... The control is also programmed in-house," Dirk De Decker explains.
Chris Cherretté concludes, "We installed a vertical sheet warehouse with a total capacity of about 100 tons at Vanhauwaert (Kuurne). The cassettes are 90 mm high, allowing new packs of plates to be loaded into the system integrally by forklift truck. For VDW Constructies (Waarschoot), we developed a system with 59 cassettes of 6200 by 2300 mm, good for a total capacity of about 300 tons. Finally, All-in Parts gvc/VINCK bvba also recently invested in a similar custom sheet warehouse, which includes 24 cassettes of 3000 mm wide and 1500 mm deep. The Dendermonde-based company also purchased two Hänel Lean-Lift® plate lift systems. One system is 1300 mm wide, 825 mm deep and 5500 mm high, while the second warehouse has a width of 3260 mm, a depth of 635 mm and a height of 5000 mm."
