Offering expanded with cutting technology

Well begun is half won. Also in metalworking. Because the higher quality a piece is cut, the higher quality the next processing steps will be. Thermacut is not nicknamed "the cutting company" for nothing. The company is the cutting technology specialist within the ABICOR Group and offers plasma, oxyfuel and laser cutting solutions of the highest level. Since April, Binzel Benelux, 100% subsidiary of ABICOR BINZEL, has been responsible for the distribution of Thermacut products within the Benelux.

Thermacut came into existence in 1990. It began under the name ZAP Plasmatherm selling spare and wear parts for plasma cutting. But under the motto "what you do yourself, you usually do better," it soon began producing its own consumables under the Thermacut brand name. This was done from a production facility in the Czech Republic, immediately also a direct entry point for the Eastern and later Western European market. 

Exceeding customer expectations

It did not stop there, however. The range soon expanded to include torches for plasma cutting and welding, followed later by mobile plasma cutting systems. One ambition always took center stage: to supply high-quality consumables and torch products that meet or exceed customers' expectations. As the customer base grew, so did their expectations and requirements. In 2005, THERMACUT expanded its portfolio with advanced consumables such as the Silver Plus, Silver Pro and Silver-EX electrodes, as well as the patented Tungsten-EX nozzles.

Addition of laser cutting technology

A new milestone followed in 2017 with the introduction of the original EX-TRABEAM laser cutting head at the international Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair, which has since been further developed. This allows Thermacut to offer its customers solutions for the three most commonly used thermal cutting processes: plasma, oxyfuel and laser. A unique position, which allows the company to technically advise its customers always the best solution according to material, thickness, product specifications and operational costs. 

Globally valued

During its 35-year existence, the originally American company has become a renowned supplier in cutting technology. Today, the high quality and reliability of Thermacut products are greatly appreciated worldwide. In addition, Thermacut makes a difference with its flexibility, which allows it to respond quickly to changing requirements. "The cutting company is more than just a slogan for us. It is an established way of working. Maximum cross-pollination

Since February 2024, the IBG Group (which has owned 100% Thermacut since 2002) has combined its cutting and welding companies into one group under the name "ABICOR GROUP. It consists of the following companies: Abicor Binzel, Thermacut and HERR Industry System, PT Photonic Tools, Astaras, Cantesco and Weldstone. All the mentioned brands maintain their own unique identity. The main goal of the group is to offer customers a wider range of products and services in the future, especially in the area of automation and system solutions, so that they can take full advantage of our solutions.
