New WeldBuilder app for user-friendly welding automation

Yaskawa's WeldBuilder wizard was developed to provide new users of welding automation in particular with a simple user interface. This new application for the Smart Pendant makes it possible to build the welding program for a welding robot directly on the Smart Pendant in a very user-friendly way.

Using the WeldBuilder software on the Smart Pendant, a wide variety of welding programs can be easily built, for example for the HC10DT welding robot, as demonstrated by Yaskawa at both the Skills Finals at SMEOT and at the Dutch Metal Days.

Intuitive interface

The WeldBuilder wizard is an intuitive interface suitable for all known weld seam shapes. Through the wizard, welding settings can be easily adjusted and all welding points can be named. A number of plugins are also available for it. For example, it is possible to use the 'Pendulum/Weaving' plugin for both fillet welds and butt welds. This allows you to add pendulum functionality to the welding program. There is also a chain weld plugin that makes it possible to have a chain weld generated for a programmed movement. In the coming time, Yaskawa Benelux will be present at a few events where we will demonstrate WeldBuilder on a HC10 welding robot (leave this out is double in there).

Welding competition

SMEOT is an MBO vocational school for Metal, Mechatronics and Machining in Hengelo. On March 16 and 17 the Skills Finals welding competition for a number of students will take place there. Among others, Yaskawa Benelux has been invited to demonstrate our cobot. On March 16, the competitions will be opened at 8:30 by the alderman and will take place throughout the day. After closing there will be a walk-in evening for potential students from 18.00 - 20.00 where they can get acquainted with the welding robot. The competitions will conclude during the morning of March 17 with closing at 11.00.

Metal Days

From April 19 - 21, the Dutch Metal Days will take place in the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch. The focus for this edition is Smart Manufacturing. Here, Yaskawa Benelux will also demonstrate the WeldBuilder wizard on an HC10 welding robot. Yaskawa's ArcWorld arc welding robot cell series has for years provided a flexible solution for manufacturing companies to increase their production. One of the smallest models in the series is on display at Metal Days. The ArcWorld Mini RS is a flexible and space-saving welding cell that is easy to install and move and provides a compact and easy option for replacing or supplementing manual welding.

In addition to welding robots and cobots, Yaskawa of course has more than 40 years of experience in the production of robust and reliable handling robots, supplied from its European robot factory which means short delivery times can be guaranteed. During the Metal Days, a GP25 handling robot will be on display in working order.
