Anyone active in the processing of metal sheets, pipes or profiles has already marked the dates in their diaries for a long time. From November 5 to 8, the fourteenth edition of Blechexpo and the seventh edition of Schweisstec will take place simultaneously in the Stuttgart trade fair complex. In the nine halls, around 1,500 exhibitors will welcome visitors with open arms. With that, the trade fair duo is well on its way to breaking all records.
Blechexpo and Schweisstec take place together every two years. This synergy allows visitors to learn about modern technology for processing and joining sheet metal in no time. Metal sheets, tubes and profiles are an important structural material. They are an alternative to cast iron, steel and plastic productions. The image of modern cars, machines or devices, with their lightweight design and their modular components can only be achieved by smart and efficient use of these materials. In the coming years, the focus will be on lowering material use and weight and reducing costs.
That's precisely why Blechexpo and Schweisstec are rolling out the red carpet for precision technology in the cutting, pressing and shaping of steel, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. The trade audience will be spoiled there with solutions and systems covering all aspects of the production process, including preparation and finishing, as well as assembly operations and surface treatments for sensitive, visible components. The challenges involved, as well as the trends at play in sheet metal working and joining technology, will be discussed in detail on the show floor.
Which, by the way, will look fuller than ever. The fair organizers are already counting 150 more exhibitors for the upcoming edition. The exhibition area was therefore expanded by 15%, accounting for an additional hall to be visited. Also striking in this regard is the increase in the number of foreign exhibitors. Compared to the previous edition in 2017, they almost doubled. The organization therefore assumes that records will be broken. The fair owes its success to its clear practical focus: Blechexpo and Schweisstec cover all the challenges and trends that matter in the digitized, automated world of metalworking today.

Not surprisingly, this is the theme the fourth edition of Stahlnews Expert Meet will focus on. Under the banner "The Steel Industry in Times of Globalization and Industry 4.0," they aim to promote the exchange of ideas and help participants update their knowledge. Renowned and internationally recognized industry experts will speak. The event taking place on the first day of Blechexpo is aimed at specialists from the steel and sheet metal working industry, operators from steel service centers and steel distributors with their own production capacity. The following days will also be available at the Blechexpo Forum for other presentations.
