A broad product portfolio in cutting and welding under one umbrella

Since February 2024, the ABICOR GROUP has united the globally strong brands of IBG (Industrie-Beteiligungs-Gesellschaft) in the areas of cutting, welding, systems and components. All the brands it unites, including ABICOR BINZEL, share a common goal: to offer high-quality products and system solutions that broadly meet the needs of their customers.

The ABICOR GROUP has twelve production facilities and is represented in more than 50 countries worldwide. Thanks to this international network, distribution channels are particularly short and fast service around the world is possible. The head office is located in Buseck near Giessen in Germany.

Powerful solutions for the metal processing industry

The ABICOR GROUP offers a wide range of solutions for the needs of the metalworking industry. For clients, integration into the ABICOR GROUP offers clear advantages. The goal is to be a single point of contact in all countries where multiple contacts operated in the past. This reduces complexity and improves efficiency, especially on larger projects such as in shipbuilding where welding and cutting technology often go hand in hand.

Outlook for 2025: combining tradition and innovation

The industry is currently facing major challenges: economic uncertainties, a growing shortage of skilled labor and increasing demands for sustainability and digitalization are putting pressure on companies worldwide. ABICOR BINZEL will continue to follow trends in welding technology in the new year with a clear focus on manual welding guns/torches and wear parts. Because that is what dealers and users expect. In particular, current trends in welding technology focus on two central themes: automation and the protection of the health of welders and operators.

Automation - more efficient welding

The shortage of skilled labor is increasing the demand for automated solutions. This is where cobots (collaborative robots) such as the iBOTone® offer new opportunities: they take over repetitive welding work, deliver consistent quality and work hand in hand with people. Welding robots are particularly easy to operate, so they can be programmed by a welder. Alternatively, a skilled worker can take over operation after the parameters have been set by a specialist. The welder can then devote himself to more complex tasks. This makes welding robots such as the iBOTone a valuable asset for companies of all sizes, even when producing small quantities. There is also a demand for intelligent solutions for partial automation, such as TIG torch or electrode change systems. These and similar automation solutions help make production even more efficient.

Health protection - priority for welders

In addition to automation, health protection is becoming increasingly important. It is not only the physical strain of welding that plays a role: welding fumes and gases pose a significant health risk to welders and other workers in the production hall. Welding guns and torches with fume extraction can significantly improve air quality in the workshop. Further innovations from ABICOR BINZEL in this area are in the pipeline.

'Back to the roots' - focus on core activities

The year 2025 will revolve around what the ABICOR BINZEL brand is all about: high-quality welding guns and torches and wear parts that have been firmly established in the market worldwide for decades. At the same time, innovation and adaptability remain important aspects not only to meet current requirements, but also to actively shape future trends.

Result

Despite the challenges in the industry, ABICOR BINZEL is optimistic about the future. With new innovative products that follow the megatrends of the industry while maintaining a clear focus on its core business, ABICOR BINZEL aims to meet the needs of customers and partners and all users even better. This approach will be further developed under the umbrella of the ABICOR GROUP.
