Increased security
Over the past few decades, regulations surrounding working at height have become significantly stricter. Rightly so, as dozens of accidents occur every year due to falls from greater or lesser heights, often involving mobile scaffolding. In July 2004, the regulatory authorities determined that working on ladders above 2.5 meters was prohibited. From that height, mobile scaffolding was required. But even with mobile scaffolding, many accidents still occurred each year, some 35, with several deaths each year and 3 to 4 involved with permanent injuries. Reason for tightening the regulations again from January 2018, with a particular focus on protective hip bars on platforms and properly anchoring mobile scaffolds before starting work. If you plan to rent or buy scaffolding, make sure you review the new regulations beforehand.
Scaffolding equipment rental
But what makes more sense for handymen, do-it-yourselfers, construction companies and cleaners: a scaffold rental Or buy scaffolding? Those who choose to rent scaffolding equipment can assume some of the pluses associated with scaffolding rental. A nice one is that the quality and safety of the scaffolding is the responsibility of the rental company. They usually also erect the scaffold after delivery, while after the rental period, the scaffold is folded and taken away again. You are thus completely relieved of all your worries if you choose to rent a construction scaffold. Furthermore, renting is ideal if you do not need scaffolding very often. As a private individual, for example, consider painting the house once every five to six years. In that case, scaffolding rental is obviously much more economical than buying scaffolding. Renting is also convenient because you don't have to store the scaffolding between jobs, which again comes at a price. Finally, you know that when you rent, you also always have the latest models and brands of scaffolding, which are truly reliable and safe. Downsides of renting are that you don't always have scaffolding immediately at hand. After the rental period, of course, the scaffolding must be returned.
Buy scaffolding
An advantage of buying scaffolding is that you always have access to one or more scaffolds whenever you want. This is of course particularly useful if you have your own construction or cleaning company and need scaffolding for your work on a daily basis. Renting obviously won't matter in the long run for this type of business. A downside of buying is that you have to have the scaffolding maintained and inspected periodically, which takes time and energy.
