The number of hot days increases year after year and the average temperature also continues to rise. At peak times, metal processing companies, as in many other industries, must seek additional cooling to ensure the comfort of their employees on the shop floor. Air conditioning systems and adiabatic cooling

Delta-Temp offers a wide range of air conditioning systems, such as the water-cooled plug-and-play split air conditioners AC 6.7 and the rugged RFT50 and RFT100 rooftops for outdoor installation. "The powerful and mobile evaporative coolers from Breezer and Portacool work on the principle of adiabatic cooling. The fan draws in the warm air from the room and blows it through a humid pad, which cools the air. That cold air is blown back into the room, which can reduce the perceived temperature in that room by 5° C to 10° C depending on the conditions," says Bruno Deneyer, in charge of marketing and communications. "This type of cooling is extremely efficient in rooms where traditional air conditioners are too expensive or cumbersome. Indeed, this technology can be perfectly used for cooling in those areas of large work halls where people are at work. For example, steel giant Bekaert uses adiabatic cooling in the area where fences come out of the paint shop and a lot of radiant heat is generated."

Chillers and air handling units

The specialist also offers mobile chillers, so-called chillers, with a cooling capacity range from 25 kW to 1,500 kW. "These mobile cooling systems are equipped with a powerful internal pump and come with electrical connection and couplings for water supply. They are used in metalworking, for example, to cool measuring systems or coolants, but also laser heads, bearings or gearboxes," adds product manager Davy de Smet. "The air handling units, available in a variety of versions, are ideally suited for air conditioning and temperature control in buildings, production halls, storage areas, tents or in production processes. In combination with the chillers, they keep indoor temperature and humidity at a pleasant level."

"The units are delivered by our own trucks and installed and started up on site by our certified refrigeration technicians. Each unit is first tested internally, serviced and, if necessary, repaired. The number of breakdowns therefore remains very limited. If a problem does occur, our people are available to the customer 24/7."
