On November 8 and 9, Meppen, Germany, was all about high-quality machining machines. The new Acura 85 stole the show at Hedelius' annual house show. As the type number suggests, it is an extension of the successful Acura series 55 and 65.
Where these two smaller models are a tablehave diameters of 550 and 650 mm, respectively, on the Acura it is 850 mm. Moreover, the number of tools has been increased to 80, where the smaller models have 65 at their disposal. The Acura 85 can be purchased in several options. Such as with an SK40 or HSK A 63 spindle with a rotational speed ranging from 12,000 to 24,000 per minute and a corresponding power source ranging from 22 to 35 kW. The cooling of the spindle is also optionally expandable from 25 to 75 bar. The swivel-turn table with dimensions of 850 x 750 mm diameter and a swivel range of +30° to -15° allows clamping up to 1,000 kg.
Ergonomic
In terms of ergonomics, Hedelius can report that this machine can also be operated and tensioned from the front by the operator, who has a table height of 845 mm at his disposal for this purpose. The cab roof opens at the same time as the door, so that loading by a crane is also possible. The Acura 85 has a machining radius of 900 x 850 x 700 mm (x/y/z) with still a very compact design. It is only 500 mm longer and 600 mm deeper than the Acura 65. Incidentally, the Acura 55 and 65 have also only been on the market for a year. Hedelius launched them at the AMB fair last fall. Those machines caught on well in the Benelux. Promas - a distributor in the Netherlands and Belgium - reports that it has already sold about 25 of the Acura 55 and 65 in the Netherlands and Belgium, some of which have yet to be delivered.
