New Seco GL thread cutting heads expand the number of solutions for deep drilling

Reduce rejects, which lead to the scorching of large, expensive workpieces - when machining in deep bores with two new GL25 thread cutting heads for Steadyline® lathes and boring bars from Seco Tools. These new thread cutting heads expand the range of GL heads for Steadyline® bars with an improved choice of products that increase production accuracy, provide better, high-quality surface finishes and reduce dead times for indexing cutting plates and changing heads. Steadyline® lathes utilize the most effective vibration damping system on the market for easy turning and boring to a depth of up to 10xD in small and large bores.

For operations in deep bores as small as 30 mm (1″) in diameter, the new compact GL25 heads offer additional stability up to 10xD. With the high repetition accuracy of the Seco GL25 connection to Steadyline® bars ø25 mm (1″), workshops can benefit from the range/output length and highly effective anti-vibration technology. The GL connection with optimized wall thickness offers centering accuracy and size repeatability down to 5 µm, providing greater operational flexibility and faster and easier tool changes. Seco Tools has designed these new GL25 thread cutting heads for integration with Seco Jetstream Tooling® that provides the capability for high cooling pressure operation.
