Fully automatic band saw machine for manufacturer trailers

Kerenzo from Wetteren has been manufacturing all kinds of trailers, from the simplest 'tub' to the largest possible custom-made 'remorque', for more than thirty years. To continue offering top quality to his distributors, manager Eddy Stevens recently replaced an outdated sawing machine with a new fully automatic band saw machine type MEBAe-cut 600A. Distributor The Tollenaere supplied and installed this band saw automatic, giving the trailer manufacturer many more years to come.

Many professionals transport their machines, tools and raw materials to a job site every day in an open or closed trailer. Private individuals also use one from time to time, for example to transport building materials or bring waste to the container park. Kerenzo specializes in the production of all kinds of unbraked and braked trailers, which are marketed through a network of distributors. "Unbraked trailers, as the name suggests, have no brakes of their own. They have a maximum permissible payload of 750 kg, although one must check in advance what power the vehicle is allowed to pull," explains manager Stevens. "Braked trailers have a much higher payload and, for safety reasons, are equipped with a braking system corresponding to that of the towing vehicle. Unlike unbraked versions, these braked models must be registered and inspected every year." 

Fully automatic band saw machine

All of Kerenzo's trailers comply with European regulations and are available in a standard version or as customization with a special superstructure or a specific interior finish. For construction, Kerenzo's facilities include machines for sawing, drilling and milling metal profiles and sheets. Up-to-date machinery is a priority for efficient and qualitative production of the end products, which is why Stevens recently replaced an outdated sawing machine with a new sawing machine. In doing so, he chose a fully automatic MEBA band saw machine. "The MEBAe-cut 600A is a robust fully automatic band saw machine with a double column construction, extremely suitable for cutting profiles and solid elements at right angles. This fully electrically driven bandsaw machine is equipped with a 7,900 x 54 x 1.6 mm saw blade with an adjustable band speed between 15 and 150 m/min," explains Marc The Tollenaere adds. "It is used for cutting workpieces up to 600 x 600 mm and round elements up to 600 mm in diameter with a weight of up to 500 kg. Horizontal tension clamps on both sides of the saw band guarantee reliable material clamping."

Technical support of importance

Kerenzo has had several smaller machines at The Tollenaere purchased. So the house and its products are known through and through. "There is still a difference between buying a small machine tool and a fully automatic bandsaw machine. The larger the investment, the more information and especially certainty you want to have in advance. After all, as a craftsman, you don't want any surprises. Therefore, in addition to the known quality of the machines from MEBA, the expert knowledge of representative Gerrit De Vos was of particular importance. The Tollenaere decisive for me. His technical support during the purchase convinced us that this system was the right solution for our application," Stevens states. "The delivery and installation of the machine went smoothly, but after commissioning, some adjustments still had to be made to optimally adapt the system to our processes. At The Tollenaere they have the knowledge for that and also continue to support you technically until everything is optimized, even if they have to make several adjustments to do so."
