The first impression counts - both in industry and crafts. For professional interaction with each other and a good corporate image, not only correct, uniform work clothing is essential, but also the markings on it, such as the company logo or name labels. Uniform indications on work clothing increase the company's recognizability and at the same time promote the employees' sense of belonging.

Whether suspender pants, aprons, shirts or protective clothing should be printed or embroidered depends as much on the material of the workwear as on its use. Embroidery is very durable, retains its color even after many washings and does not fray. An embroidered name on a waiter's collar, for example, looks very elegant. In the health sector, it provides clarity and confidence.

Flying sparks, dust and fumes in industrial production halls and craft workshops, on the other hand, put not only the work clothes but also the markings on them to the test. This requires a durable solution. Logos and nameplates can be applied to clothing in the desired colors and quickly replaced when they no longer look good.

Screen printing also provides long-lasting indications. The color spectrum is unlimited and even the smallest details can be reproduced. Since the color penetrates directly and permanently into the fibers, the work clothes of workers in industry, transport companies or airport personnel can be refined in this way. For craft businesses, there is the more economical transfer printing, with which shirts, vests or aprons can be printed in a durable manner.

Special requirements for emblems on PPE
Particular care must be taken when applying markings to protective clothing (PPE). Emblems must be adapted to the PPE in shape, material, size and position. "For example, flame retardant emblems cannot be made in any color. With reflective clothing there is only a limited area available for emblems and with chemical protective clothing the exact position is specified," explains Silvia Mertens, Product Manager at MEWA. The material of the emblems must also exactly meet the requirements for protective clothing. For example, flammable emblems or threads that melt at the slightest heat are unsuitable for clothing that must protect against heat and flames. Likewise, seams that are too thick, preventing the discharge of sparks, compromise the protective function and call into question the type examination of the clothing.

Special care must be taken when applying signs to protective clothing. Emblems must be appropriate in form and material to the PPE and the location where they are to be applied.

To ensure that the protective function remains guaranteed despite the markings, it is recommended to have logos or embroidery applied by a professional company specializing in workwear. MEWA offers such a professional embroidery and logo service as part of its textile services. Thus, the leading textile service provider supports companies in creating a uniform image and offers all textile and logo services centrally.
