For years, Metafox has been a major player in the world of supplying tube and profile parts in steel, aluminum and stainless steel. The family business distinguishes itself by a healthy vision with targeted investments and by endorsing the importance of its employees.

The latest investment is the state-of-the-art powder coating line that will be fully operational in early 2023. This will enable Metafox to deliver an even greater service. The latest nanotechnology will be used in pretreatment, ensuring that corrosion resistance achieves maximum values. Powder coating will be done automatically, but of course manual touch-up is also possible. In terms of environmental standards, everything is also fine.

Metafox operates in a very wide range of industries. It finishes both brutal constructions and high-quality precision parts. This ranges from handles for off-road vehicles, to parts for designer furniture, to segments for the medical world. So many different finishing grades and tolerance requirements must be met. Those specifications are communicated for each job via an ERP package that also allows for feedback. Thus, post-calculations can be made that result in a correct pricing structure.

Extreme possibilities

"With our modern machinery, we are convinced that we can certainly compete with foreign productions. Everything is done as much as possible on CNC-controlled machines and processes are automated wherever possible. Examples include our welding robots, tube laser machines, 3D laser cell, CNC tube bending machines and profile rolling machines."

"These efficient machines offer extreme possibilities. Take, for example, the full-3D tube laser Trumpf TruLaser Tube 7000 Fiber; this technology offers enormous possibilities for cutting asymmetrical profiles. However, it is through the accumulated knowledge and experience of our programmers and operators that we are able to distinguish ourselves. The module to also flow drill holes and thread tapping on this machine is another example of efficiency optimization. Also the input length of 9.3m and output length of 6m allow for a wide variety of applications."

"The same story can be found with our Panasonic welding robots. In addition to MIG/MAG welding of steel, we can also do semi-automated welding of aluminum. Robotized TIG welding of steel and stainless steel is also daily business. The great advantage of robotized TIG welding is that grinding of weld slag can be minimized or even avoided. In projects where grinding does remain necessary, we have even implemented solutions where we have a robot perform this labor."

This wide variety of technical possibilities allows Metafox to offer both components and fully finished end products. Metafox thus knows how to apply the buzzword onestopshop in practice. 

In addition, Metafox has its own engineering team that designs and produces jigs, moulds and tooling. This means that specific, uncommon technical challenges can be met from A to Z in-house. Undoubtedly an aspect that allows them to distinguish themselves on the market. They also do this by using both CNC-controlled and conventional machines. These go hand in hand and provide the most economical solution for the customer. 

As indicated earlier, Metafox operates in a very wide range of sectors. In addition to its subcontracting activity, the company is also active as a furniture manufacturer for the event sector and multipurpose rooms. In fact, the Devos family put the company on the map. Later, the subcontracting branch was added. Today, both activities are the two strategic pillars on which the company continues to build. 

The family anchoring in the company remains an important aspect. Currently, with Frederique Devos, the second generation is at the helm. In this family business, great importance is attached to human capital. The employees are the strength of the company. This was recently highlighted during a fun team-building event.
