Mendix, a Siemens company and global leader in modern enterprise application development, and Atos, a global leader in digital transformation, have expanded their partnership. This will allow Atos to use the Mendix low-code platform to drive hyperautomation and decarbonization in organizations. The partnership with Mendix builds on the long-standing collaboration between Atos and Siemens and Atos' ambition to provide high-quality low-code solutions to businesses.
Under the agreement, Atos will receive a license to sell the Mendix low-code platform in several regions where Atos works with Siemens, including EMEA, APAC and the Americas. After the initial launch, this will be expanded to more countries.
Many organizations are undergoing a rapid transformation in digitizing their business processes and operations. In more and more sectors and industries, IT solutions are being deployed to operate more efficiently, optimize asset utilization and increase revenue.
Within the partnership, Atos is leveraging the Mendix low-code platform to offer a wide range of services for application modernization, and to strengthen its industry expertise and capabilities. The partnership allows Atos to help organizations maximize the potential of low-code applications and meet the increasing demand for fast and modern services in the manufacturing, retail, public sector, telecom and financial services industries. With the Mendix low-code platform, Atos customers can launch complex digital initiatives without having to invest heavily in technical capabilities and expertise.
The agreement also supports Atos' mission to push the boundaries of scientific and technological capabilities so that business partners, customers and society can operate sustainably in a secure digital world.
The Mendix platform has a circular approach to software development due to its easy integration with existing components. Because organizations can upgrade their services piece by piece, no major infrastructure changes are required, allowing organizations to manage assets more effectively. The Mendix platform is cloud-native and enables application containerization. This allows organizations to deploy and scale their apps anywhere without having to redevelop.
With the Mendix low-code platform, Atos can support its customers in developing applications with low environmental impact, helping to reduce their carbon footprint.
According to the Exponential Climate Action Roadmap of the World Economic Forumdigital technologies can help reduce global carbon emissions by 15%, a third of the required 50% reduction by 2030. This can be achieved by deploying digital innovations in energy, manufacturing, agriculture, transportation and traffic management. Through the new agreement, Atos and Mendix are supporting these sectors in their decarbonization needs.
Atos is already building applications based on the Mendix platform to monitor, report and track energy consumption and carbon emissions in real time at 1,800 locations worldwide.
"We are excited to build on Siemens' long-standing relationship with Atos and offer high-quality services that further support hyperautomation and decarbonization in organizations. Atos has a strong foundation in application modernization and has the expertise to provide a clear roadmap for modernizing legacy applications and systems. This is critical for companies looking to rebuild or replace these systems. Our low-code platform and Atos' expertise are a perfect fit for accelerating that transformation", says Tim Srock, CEO of Mendix. "Through this partnership with Mendix, Atos is helping organizations streamline their processes, reducing the overall cost and time required to change or improve application development systems."
Rakesh Khanna, Head of Digital at Atos: "In the rapidly changing digital landscape, this partnership will allow us to leverage the Mendix low-code platform to offer unique services that we can quickly adapt and respond to our customers' market changes and opportunities, across all sectors where we operate.
