Transporting machinery to overseas destinations requires expertise
When transporting to a distant destination, proper packaging is crucial.

Transporting machinery to overseas destinations requires expertise

Both the client and its end customer want their machines to be transported safely and undamaged, even to overseas destinations. The Jan van Dam Group offers a total concept and thereby relieves its customers from a to z: from packaging and loading of machines, over transport to and from any corner of the world, customs formalities and possibly temporary storage, to a home delivery and even anchoring and installation in the end customer's production environment.

The Jan van Dam Group, consisting of Jan van Dam Machine Transport and Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics, is a household name when it comes to machine transport for customers in the most diverse, often demanding sectors. This specialist is a dedicated partner for clients and their end customers, thanks to an enthusiastic team of experienced employees as well as the most advanced vehicles and techniques for transporting, loading and unloading. The equipment includes trailers and semi-trailers, tractors and box trucks, truck-mounted cranes, compact cranes, forklift and aerial platforms, hoisting gantries, internal transport equipment and assembly buses.

To any destination

"With every order, we think about the right way to work and take charge of all the logistics. We package the machine, after which it is loaded onto our trucks for delivery to the end customer. In consultation with the manufacturer and end customer, it is unrolled on site, transported efficiently and safely through the production hall, and set in place. With our team of mechanics, we can even assist with the mechanical installation," explains sales manager Kasper Kraan. "We are not limited to Belgium and the Netherlands. Our Jan van Dam Global Machine Logistics department is responsible for shipping to any country, worldwide."

"An overseas project starts with proper packing in standard boxes and crates, reusable crates, skids and custom pallets and additional protection with foil and wrapping. After loading into one or more containers, it is transported to one of our warehouses in Oudewater, Rotterdam or Bergen op Zoom, or directly to an (air) port of departure. We arrange the sea freight or air transport and take care of the logistics in the country of arrival. Our people know the applicable customs regulations within and outside the EU, which means we can also take care of all customs formalities for both export and customs clearance. As a client, you ultimately have only one fixed point of contact for the entire project. And that is a big advantage, because if you have to have the various phases of such a transport carried out by different partners, delays arise due to communication between those companies."
