In 2024, technical wholesaler Forster Nederland from Oud Gastel in Brabant was looking for a way to store its stock of system profiles in an orderly, efficient and compact manner. The solution was found in a number of cantilever racks from OHRA Opslagsystemen Nederland, this in combination with a side loader type Hubtex Phoenix ML20. "In this way, we have achieved a storage capacity of no less than 354 packages with a length of 6,000 mm," says operations manager Jacco van Herwijnen of Forster Nederland.
As a technical wholesaler for facade construction, Forster Nederland has three different product groups in its range. In addition to hardware and sealing products, these are system profiles. "Previously, these steel profiles, with a length of 6 meters, were spread out on the floor. But to save storage space, we have now basically gone up to the height with these," says Van Herwijnen. To create additional floor space, he approached several cantilever racking suppliers in 2024. OHRA Storage Systems Netherlands came out on top. Not only the price-quality ratio and fast delivery time, but in particular the technical features were the deciding factors, the operations manager clarified. "A major advantage of OHRA's cantilever racking, for example, is that there is a locking pawl or plate on the back of the cantilever arms. This makes it very easy to move or adjust the hook-in height of the carrier arms. At the front of the support arms there is also a cam holder for the application of a roll-off fuse. This clearly distinguishes these cantilever arm racks."
In the fall of 2024, one single-sided OHRA cantilever rack and five double-sided OHRA cantilever racks were installed in Forster Netherlands' warehouse, this in combination with a side loader. "Partly in view of the limited space in our warehouse, the choice fell on a side loader of the Hubtex Phoenix ML20 type in this regard, as it offers a net aisle width between the truck rails of only 1,520 mm," Van Herwijnen says. Now, several months later, he is delighted with the end result. "Thanks to OHRA's solution, we have realized a storage capacity of no less than 354 packages for our system profiles with a length of 6 meters. As a result, we have managed to create additional floor space for other purposes."
Forster Netherlands' practical case once again confirms the excellent reputation of OHRA Regelanlagen GmbH, which has been active in the storage industry for more than forty-five years and is the European market leader in cantilever racking. Its program now includes numerous storage systems that are sold through its own sales offices in as many as fourteen European countries. The Dutch branch is run by Berry Vanneer who himself now has a quarter of a century of experience selling storage systems. "The challenge is to design a warehouse system that is optimally accessible and where as many products as possible can be safely stored per cubic meter," he explains. "For this we have several solutions in house, with the undisputed 'fastmover' being our cantilever racking. These come in various designs and sizes, without and with roof construction, so they can also be used outdoors. These systems - as our solution at Forster Nederland also proves - are ideal for storing long products. Moreover, in our galvanized version they have a guarantee of no less than twenty-five years against rusting through."
