The manufacturing industry is evolving rapidly, and companies need to invest in their machinery to stay competitive and respond to their customers' needs. However, not everyone is ready for a heavy investment in a high-tech machine. For them, Deratech offers high-quality machines at an acceptable price. With Supera, the specialist in sheet metal working machines developed its own series of fiber laser cutting machines with formats from 1,500 x 1,500 to 2,500 x 10,000 mm and cutting powers between 1 and 8 kW. The Waasmunster-based company is also investing in a new building at Industriepark E17/4 in Lokeren.
Deratech, today headquartered in Waasmunster, specializes in the design, development, production, sales and service of sheet metal working machines. The company has several sales and service departments of its own, for example in Germany, Thailand, Australia and China, but designs and manufactures the machines in China, where the 300 employees of sister company Shanghai Deratech CNC Machine Tool Co. do their best every day. Final assembly, testing and service do happen from Belgium. "We work from a clear vision to offer the market CNC-controlled plate shears, bending machines, punch-cutting machines and fiber laser cutting machines at an acceptable price, without compromising on the quality of parts and components. That's why we also provide a ten-year warranty on every machine frame," says managing director Nico De Vooght. "Since we do the design ourselves, we can develop and build customized machines according to the customer's needs and requirements. To this end, we use only Western European components."
Deratech's range includes the Varia hydraulic guillotine shears with adjustable cutting angle and the oscillating blade beam shears of the Practica series. Customers looking for a bending bench have a choice between the compact Minibend, the modular Ultima, the standard highly complete Technica and the lightning-fast Hybrid with a hybrid drive. The Dinamica is a servo-electric punching machine with 20 or 30 tons and Futura a high-speed fiber laser machine with extreme precision and up to 3G axis acceleration. There are also automation solutions and CAD/CAM software. "We found that for certain companies, plasma cutting did not 100% meet their needs. However, the move to fiber laser cutting is an investment that weighs heavily on the budget. But those who have to outsource that cutting work sacrifice flexibility. We wanted to offer these manufacturing companies a suitable solution, which does not necessarily have to be an extremely high-performance system with sources of 10, 12 or 15 kW," explains the managing director. "With Supera, we offer a range of fiber laser cutting machines equipped with high-quality components at acceptable prices. This all-round system is available in size 1,500 x 1,500 to 2,500 x 10,000 mm and with cutting power between 1 and 8 kW. The Precitec cutting head ensures stable, optimum cutting quality in a wide variety of material types and sheet thicknesses. The IPG fiber laser cutting source is virtually maintenance-free and guarantees constant cutting power for thousands of hours." Optionally, these machines can be supplied with a changeover table, a Precitec ProCutter cutting head with automatic focus point adjustment and a rotary axis for cutting round, square and rectangular tubes. They can also be combined with automation systems for unmanned production."
Currently, the first Supera fiber laser cutting machines for customers on the Belgian and Dutch markets are running through production in China. However, Deratech is not only investing in the development of new machines, but is also building a new site at Industriepark E17/4 in Lokeren. "We want to keep growing and therefore needed expansion. That is why we are realizing a new building with an area of 2,500 m² with offices, a workshop and an experience center," De Vooght concludes. "We may buy a lot online, but people still want to see a larger investment such as a machine first. In our showroom, customers will be able to see sheet metal working machines in various versions in operation. We also want to create a one-stop shop for spare parts at our new location. Finally, to further improve our service, we will further strengthen our team."
