Innovative cutting technology ready to conquer Europe

On Friday, April 25, the Open Day of Penta Laser Benelux took place. Over 150 interested parties descended on the factory hall in Deurne, the Netherlands, to view various Penta Laser models. The eye catcher? The Bolt VII 60256, a fiber laser that has 60 kW of power and can cut thick plates quickly and accurately. 

The factory floor of EPM Metaaltechniek, where the machines are set up, features three different types of Penta Laser. An 8kW machine, two 12kW machines and a 60kW demo model. A solution for every need.

Stamp printing on the European market

Jeroen Carmiggelt, responsible for Penta Laser Benelux, is convinced that the originally Chinese company will soon conquer the European market as well. "We offer solid quality for a good price," he says. "The local market in China has Penta Laser well under control. They are the market leader there and supply several leading customers there. And now we are ready to make our mark in the European market as well." By organizing the Open Day, he shows (potential) customers the possibilities. "You can put machines in a showroom, but then people can't see them in action," Carmiggelt continues. "Today here everyone discovers how our machines work."

User-friendly for operators

A thorny issue with exotic laser cutting machines, is that they are difficult for operators to operate. This is not the case with Penta Laser's models. They have European controls and cooperate with Lantek, for example, which was also present at the Open House. In just one day, an operator is fully up to speed, even if he or she does not yet know much about laser cutting. From the moment the parameters are set correctly, the machine does the rest. The automated system works through a vacuum unit with multiple suction cups. This takes raw plates from one of the six towers, or from the two additional separate positions closer to the machine. This plate is then placed on the cutting bed and also taken off again after processing with a separate fork lift unit. "The setup at EPM Metaaltechniek was determined by them," Carmiggelt says. "Logistical movements and the space available are always decisive in this. To be clear, we build the systems ourselves and every setup can be made to the customer's specifications. So there are 1001 variations on it."

Fully automated process

The fully automatic process ensures that after setting up the laser cutting machine, the operator in question does not actually have to do much. He or she can be deployed elsewhere in the plant to operate yet another machine. This saves a lot of time and man hours. Besides the quality of the machines, Penta Laser Benelux attaches enormous importance to good service and support after the sale. Customers can count 24/7 on quick interventions in case of technical problems, both for hardware and software issues. This customer-oriented approach is very important in the company's strategy to not only deliver affordable and high-quality technology, but also to build long-term partnerships.

Something for everyone

Penta Laser has a very wide range of different types of laser cutting machines. At the plant in Deurne alone, the range varies from 8kW to 60 kW. The choice a customer makes depends on the thickness of the material to be cut, the desired quality as well as the amount of work to be processed per day. This can vary enormously from one customer to another. What kind of machine you want to invest in depends very much on your company's goals and vision for the future.
