CEO Carl Berlo: "The customer simply enters his drawing, selects his materials, the desired delivery date and less than a minute later receives his quotation in the mailbox. When he gives his approval, we immediately get to work to deliver his order as quickly as possible. And that 24/7 with 100% control and transparency for the customer." That applies to laser cutting of sheets and tubes as well as bending of material. That 247TailorSteel threw themselves first into this market, means that they have been able to build a double lead. "Today, our portal Sophia can also already process complete assemblies combining several techniques and articles. The customer can upload everything as one file, our portal does the rest.

In addition, we stock more than 100 different materials in different thicknesses. Because of that diversity, we can always help the customer quickly. And we don't just do it digitally. We also have a help desk where customers can always go for extra support. That combination is a formula you can't beat," said Berlo.

Efficiency to perfection

To make that happen, the 247TailorSteel not only enormously digitized on the front end. All the steps that follow are also automated and digitized to perfection. From checking manufacturability, to loading nestings or the bending program. "The fact that today we can produce series sizes from 1 to 1 million and remain competitive has everything to do with that extreme efficiency we have achieved in our production," Berlo says. "For example, we hardly have to deal with residual materials because we can nest the sheets perfectly because of that wide range of orders. That way we can perfectly control costs and deliver the competitive prices for which we are now known. In addition, we are hardly affected by the current shortage of materials, precisely because of our scale and excellent relationships. Our delivery reliability is still at the highest level." A success story that is far from over. Every month, over 500 more customers are joining us to embrace this new way of working.

Construction of plant in Belgium

In Belgium 247TailorSteel now present for two years. Berlo: "It's going well. Many metalworkers, large and small, are bumping up against the shortage of technical staff. They are now discovering that those investments in expensive machines are actually not always necessary. "Because we want to be able to guarantee a 48-hour delivery time and you can only do that by being close to your customers. Currently, in addition to the headquarters in Varsseveld (Netherlands), we have two factories in Germany and three new ones are under construction. The intention is to be fully operational in Belgium in 2023 on an area of 35,000 to 50,000 m² with the latest machines and in the most modern production environment. Next year we already want to start recruiting new colleagues," Berlo adds.
