Description

The Club Prevention Consultants brings together prevention consultants where lectures, discussions, recent evolutions and issues of well-being at work are addressed in a flexible manner. These topics are instructive and informative with a focus on networking. Everything is always presented in a pleasant setting and concluded with a reception. These meetings are a discussion platform where experiences on the different matters are exchanged. Exchanging ideas, listening to visions, practical testimonies and networking are the objectives of this initiative.

Who is this training intended for?

This club is aimed primarily at prevention advisor level 1, 2 or 3. In addition, this club is also intended for employees who are working on safety and prevention policies within the company.

Methodology

These meetings are a discussion platform where experiences on the different matters are exchanged. Exchanging ideas, listening to visions, practical testimonies and networking are the objectives of this initiative.

Program

Meeting 1 - Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The prevention service: How to organize and structure your documents

Developing and maintaining a prevention policy is a permanent challenge for every prevention advisor. Many documents are involved, such as risk analyses, commissioning, inspections, training, reports, controls, etc. It is a daily task for every prevention advisor to create order in all these documents.

During this presentation we will look at how documents can be inventoried and structured so that questions can be answered more quickly regardless of the structure of the company or the nature of the business activities. Some practical examples will be shown and discussed. There are several good solutions! The best solution is probably the one where the prevention advisor can always fall back on his self-made structure in our digital world. During this club meeting, the guest speaker will show us how he approaches this.

Important concerns for the prevention consultant

If we were to list what is expected of the prevention advisor today, the list would be a long one. There is often the fact of a rapidly growing and/or changing company, social context and legislation, ... and we also work with people, i.e. the prevention adviser lives in a field of tension where he must take account of interests, sensitivities and so much more. Nowadays, the prevention advisor is perhaps more of a coach and manager than just a consultant, he has a key function in the company and thus a very diverse range of tasks.

During this meeting, we will briefly reflect on some topics that you as a prevention advisor are facing, say important points of interest of importance for the prevention advisor in the exercise of his function. What evolutions, trends do we see, a state of affairs. Our guest speaker will put the following topics under the magnifying glass:

• The independence of the prevention advisor.
• Dismissal protection of the prevention consultant.
• The time commitment of the prevention advisor, how do you determine this and is it correct in practice.
• What does the government expect from the various actors, does this match the practice, where do we see the most violations.
• What are common incidents, accidents, violations, what trend do we see in them.
• Investigating workplace accidents, reporting, what are the most common deficiencies in reporting, what could be better.

Current events, an overview of new legislation. Outlook for the near future

The past year saw a number of legislative changes in the area of employee well-being at work, with significant implications for businesses.

We can also expect some changes in the near future.

During this club meeting, the guest speaker will give an interactive summary of the past period as well as an overview of what we can expect in the near future. There is room for questions with attention to possible problems and bottlenecks.

Meeting 4 - Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Company visit at Valcke Prefab Beton at Vlamertinge (Ypres)

Valcke Prefab Concrete, together with its French sister company Traconord, specializes in agro and industrial construction. Over the decades, the company has grown into a modern and professional construction company with a strong reputation. For the company, safety has always been an important priority.

During this visit, you will get a picture of what risks all occur in the factory whose main business activity is "construction of precast concrete elements". You will get a picture of the following prevention topics and the associated hazards: exceptional transport, hoisting of large loads, automation in precast construction, hoisting and lifting accessories, an overview of industrial accidents, storage of hazardous building materials, operation of a concrete plant, storage methods of precast concrete elements, ...
