Waterjet cutting or waterjet cutting is one of the fastest growing industrial production processes. Especially the versatile fields of application, ease of use and efficiency of waterjet cutting systems convince users to integrate these solutions into their production processes.
The technology of waterjet cutting makes it possible to cut almost any material. Therefore, waterjet cutting systems can be found in tool and die making, metal construction, automotive, aircraft or aerospace industries, as well as in the stone and tile sector.

For the cutting process, water at a pressure of 3,500 to 6,000 bar is forced through a small nozzle. This results in tremendous speeds of two to three times the speed of sound. The impact energy on the material creates a cut of about 1 mm. Soft materials can be cut with pure water, while for cutting harder materials abrasive is added to the water jet. The main advantage of waterjet cutting is that the surface of the workpiece remains cold because there is no heat generation in the cutting process. This preserves the material properties and you don't get any deformation. The cut product also no longer needs post-processing.
The major advantage of waterjet cutting is that there is no heat generation in the cutting process, so the material properties remain unchanged and no post-processing is required.
De Tollenaere specializes in supplying quality machines for metal and aluminum machining. With the STM Waterjet cutting machine, they supply efficient and flexible solutions for waterjet cutting. The STM Waterjet can be used flexibly for a wide range of applications. The system can be used for cutting soft composites and plastics. To cut hard and/or wear-resistant materials, such as steel or ceramics, fine sand is added to the waterjet as an abrasive. Moreover, almost any shape, including sharp corners, can be cut out.
At The Tollenaere companies can choose from a wide range of high-quality metalworking machines from mainly European manufacturers. Those machines were carefully selected after thorough analysis so that they always meet the maximum quality requirements. After an in-depth discussion with the customer, a total solution is proposed that maximizes productivity and reduces costs. In addition, the company can count on an experienced team of technicians who provide outstanding customer service and extensive training opportunities.
