On the industrial estate 'De Veldkamp' in Borne, the new Hoffmann Group will soon start building. The family business, which is now 100 years old and originally German, has outgrown its premises on Platinastraat in Hengelo and had therefore been looking for a new building location for some time. The choice finally fell on 'De Veldkamp', a fairly new industrial estate a short distance from Plein Westermaat in Hengelo.
The Hoffmann Group, supplier and system partner in the field of high-quality industrial tools, is now active in more than 50 countries worldwide. A hypermodern office building will soon arise at 'De Veldkamp' in an attractive, high-visibility location. The new building, measuring approx. 3000 m2, has been designed by Erwin Kleinsman architects/StudioDAD. The building is characterized by its transparent appearance, in which in particular the movable sun blinds immediately catch the eye.
The design meets all modern sustainability and environmental requirements. For example, the building will be equipped with an advanced (gasless) installation system, using ground heat and cooling, this in combination with solar panels. Moreover, the materials used fall under the 'cradle to cradle' chapter. This makes the building enormously future-proof and it is even modularly designed so that, should the need arise, functionalities of spaces can be changed with minimal interventions.
A special feature at the new facility is the Experience Center, in which the Hoffmann Group can present its new products and innovations -which are brought to market on a very regular basis. This will be supported by two machine tools for both turning and 5-axis milling. In addition, the building will have training rooms, with space for about 100 people. A transparent office environment will be created on the entire second floor, and the building will also have space for an approx. 600 m2 logistics center with two docks, one of which can be used for docking containers, in order to fully equip it as a mobile workshop in which Hoffmann specializes.
