Significant time savings thanks to automatic tool changer

As the inventor of the servo-electric press brake, SafanDarley initiated an evolution in sheet metal working. The Dutch machine builder offers a complete range of press brakes: conventional, semi-automatic or fully automatic. Now it is adding the E-Brake C 200T Ultra, equipped with a Tool Mate, an external automatic tool changer that, according to the manufacturer, saves a great deal of time when producing small series. It will already be one of the eye-catchers during the "Automated Solutions Theme Days" at SafanDarley's showroom (Lochem) in Week 11 and Week 13.

The term "innovation" is on the first page of the diary at machine builder SafanDarley. In doing so, the inventor of the servo-electric press brake performs everything in-house: R&D and engineering, manufacturing and assembly, as well as training, help desk and service. This allows them to respond flexibly to market demands and continuously optimize existing systems or develop innovative new products. Witness to this is the E-Brake C 200 T Ultra, a servo-electric press brake with a press force of 200 T and a bending length of 4300 mm, built with a C-frame to change tools sideways.

External tool changer Tool Mate

The new press brake is equipped with the Tool Mate, an external automatic tool changer that ensures that tools are placed in exactly the right position. The magazine has a capacity of 32, 52 or 60 m, resulting in plenty of space for tools. The integrated rotary station can rotate the top tools 180°, eliminating the need for a double set of tools.

This Tool Mate can be combined with this E-Brake C 200T Ultra, as well as with the H-Brake press brakes up to 320 T, allowing automatic changing of tools in the heavier segment as well.

The tool changer, controlled via the SafanDarley E-Control, works very intuitively. Any operator can therefore use it without extensive training. From the AutoPOL offline software - or any other independent offline bending simulation program - the correct tool setting is loaded and used directly on the machine. This intelligent software ensures that only the necessary changes are made. If possible, tools from the previous setup are automatically reused, which can significantly reduce changeover times.
