Shapes Metalworks steps into tube laser work via acquisition of ATT

Shapes Metalworks, with branches in Kuurne and Gullegem and headed by the CEO duo Dirk Haerinck and Fritz Walcarius, has acquired tube welding specialist ATT (Advanced Tube Technology) BV of Roeselare for 100%.

The acquisition of ATT is fully in line with the expansion of Shapes Group to the "one-stop-shop" supplier for the metal sector in Flanders For both piecework and small and medium series in steel, stainless steel and aluminum.

The tube laser business fills in the remaining missing piece of a consistently pursued strategy. Together with sheet metal processing and machining, from now on the customer is maximally relieved in his search for customized mechanical components. For finishing, the choice can be made between wet and powder coating since the recent 50% participation in powder coating plant Poedr. In addition, the group has the ability to make complete "assemblies" from its extensive and certified welding department (incl. robotic welding) or assembly workshop.    

ATT (Advanced Tube Technology) under the wings of CEO Hans Van Moen, has achieved a nice growth trajectory over the past decade. The time had come to further shape its market position as a tube welding specialist within a larger structure. It is generally known that tube welding is increasingly being regarded as a more valuable replacement for traditional tube cutting and, thanks to the evolution of programming software, is expanding its field of application.

A close customer-supplier relationship had existed between ATT and Shapes Metalworks for many years. In the coming years, ATT will continue to carry out its activities as a 100 % subsidiary of Shapes Metalworks NV from Roeselare. In addition to commercial economies of scale, synergies in terms of production efficiency will also be optimized.

With the acquisition of ATT and recent participation in Poedr, Shapes Group leaps to a group turnover of nearly 30 mio. € realized with 140 employees. This represents a tripling in 10 years.
