With unique products and new digital solutions and concepts, the world's leading supplier of tools and know-how for the metalworking industry will show visitors to EMO 2019 how to achieve process optimization.
Sandvik Coromant will use EMO to present new digital solutions for machining processes and efficient connected manufacturing. In line with the company's motto: "Shaping the future together," innovations around digital machining and Industry 4.0 will take center stage at the 528 m2 large booth in Hall 5 (Booth B06).
Of course, hardware in the form of the latest cutting tool and tooling innovations will also be highlighted. Chief among these new products transitioning from development laboratory to commercial availability will be an easy-to-use solution for efficient and reliable drilling. This breakthrough tool offers unparalleled performance at low cost, while providing consistent hole diameters, at lower noise levels than existing generation products. The drill will be officially introduced at the booth, where visitors will be the first to discover more.
The new generation of lightweight CoroMill® 390 milling cutter, produced through additive manufacturing, is no less innovative. Combined with Silent Tools™ adapters, the cutter, thanks to its lightweight construction, reduces vibrations when milling with long projection lengths, thus increasing stability and productivity.
In addition to the tools on display at EMO, the company's digital solutions enable interconnected design, planning and machining, as well as effective process analysis and improvements. Various CoroPlus® digital machining solutions from Sandvik Coromant offer several ways to integrate manufacturing intelligence into a workplace, resulting in optimized processes and fact-based improvement decisions. The Coromant Capto® DTH Plus, for example, which is market-ready, is a solution that allows predictive maintenance of Coromant Capto®powered tool holder becomes possible will be shown.
One of the highlights at the booth is the upgraded CoroPlus® ToolPath software for PrimeTurning™, Sandvik Coromant's recently introduced turning concept (turning in all directions) that is unlike anything else. CoroPlus® ToolPath software designed to support manufacturers using PrimeTurning™ technology to speed up their machining and planning processes. In addition, the software now offers the option for importing CAD models and creating 3D simulations with collision detection.
In line with this holistic approach, Sandvik Coromant will also present a new solution that enables sensor-equipped tools, such as the Silent Tools™ Plus solution, to send data directly to the machine. In this way, machining processes can be monitored and controlled in real time.
Another product from the CoroPlus® portfolio is the CoroPlus® ToolGuide, which visitors to the Sandvik Coromant booth can test for themselves. This comprehensive solution provides accurate tool recommendations and cutting data based on customer data such as workpiece material and application type. The latest expansion includes an update with boring tool recommendations and cutting data.
The latest addition to the Sandvik Coromant collection of apps is the Tool Wear Analyzer app. When a manufacturer is unsure what is causing unexpected tool wear, they can simply take a picture of the wear with their smartphone and easily compare it to wear types in an image database. The app also allows the user to measure the wear and save or share it with a colleague. The app works best when using a microscope linked to the phone.
Visitors to the company's booth at EMO can discuss the many innovations on display with 50 Sandvik Coromant specialists from around the world. To find the right expert, visitors can use two touch screens, which will guide them accordingly. Those planning a visit can also make appointments with the experts in advance using a form, which will be available on the Sandvik Coromant website from mid-June. In addition, the 18-person international Service Team will support exhibitors before and during the EMO with comprehensive services for all aspects of machining equipment. The team will be available in Pavilion P35 one week prior to the start of the exhibition.
To develop the best possible investment solution support together with its customers, Sandvik Coromant takes an integrated approach to the production process resulting in collaboration with various machine manufacturers. EMO visitors will therefore not only find Sandvik Coromant solutions at the company's booth, but also at booths of numerous machine manufacturers across the exhibition.
And finally, the media will be able to get exclusive insights into the latest technologies and business developments at a press conference taking place Sept. 17 at the EMO Convention Center.
