RVS Noord: Masters of craftsmanship

In Leek, about 15 kilometers from the city of Groningen, a team of professionals works daily on high-quality solutions in stainless steel. Since 1983 RVS Noord, formerly known as RVS Leek, has developed into a leading partner for equipment manufacturers, engineering firms and machine factories. With a fully equipped production site and a keen eye for quality, the company provides custom work for clients at home and abroad.

Starting point for stainless steel

For RVS Noord, stainless steel is the core. In addition to regular serial work, the company also supplies specials such as large filter systems, turnkey assemblies and skids. What sets RVS Noord apart is the breadth and depth of machining capabilities. All operations, including edging, certified welding and pickling, are performed in the company's own plant. For complementary operations, such as wiring, polishing and coating, RVS Noord works closely with established partners in the area. This ensures not only short lead times, but also maximum control over the end result.

Professionals make the difference

The team constitutes the greatest value: it is not the machines or techniques that make the difference, but the people who work with the machines. "Our craftsmen are the real power behind every final product," explains Hans Bosma, who has been the general manager responsible for RVS Noord since 2022. "You can safely call what we do a craft. It requires not only technical insight, but also professional and material knowledge."

This knowledge-intensive collaboration with the client begins with the client's question. Do we really understand what the customer is asking? Sometimes it sounds very simple to a customer, but requires a lot of material or a design is very laborious. "Of course we can make everything, but is it really necessary and is it cost-effective? Or can we achieve the same result in a smarter way?" Thinking is done with the customer in application, materials and specifications. "Sometimes a customer asks for extremely precise tolerances. That may be possible, but based on the application, we think along with them whether that is really necessary. In that, we think along with the customer and give advice on how a solution can be smarter or what else is possible. Of course, always with the client's end goal keenly in mind."

Series work, on demand and customized

That expertise makes RVS Noord the starting point for stainless steel for customers. "From drawing, we can make anything," he says. Over 40 years, RVS Noord has worked on a wide variety of stainless steel structures for virtually all industries. Recently RVS Noord supplied a large series of waste containers for the city of Copenhagen. Batches were shipped to Denmark on demand each time. "Stainless steel was deliberately chosen by the engineers. It is not only very strong, but also withstands the most diverse weather conditions. And what also plays a role for large cities is the appearance: stainless steel remains beautiful under all conditions. It does not rust and snow, rain, sleet or hail do not affect the material."

The diversity of products delivered is certainly impressive. For Hans Bosma, it underlines once again what it is really all about: he is especially proud of his team.
