Because of the high energy density and the high outflow velocity of the plasma gas, noise during plasma cutting can exceed 100 dB(A). This feels very unpleasant, especially in the frequency range of the human ear. Thanks to intensive R&D, Kjellberg's engineers have succeeded in significantly reducing the overall noise level. The new process was named Silent Cut. In the Benelux, Plasma Solutions is responsible for distribution.
With the new technology Silent Cut, Kjellberg Finsterwalde offers the ideal solution to reduce noise when plasma cutting. Silent Cut is the next offspring of the patented Contour Cut technology. Tests have shown that with Silent Cut when plasma cutting steel with a thickness between 4 and 30 mm and a current between 60 and 160 A, it succeeds in reducing the noise level by 15 dB(A). Important here is that the high frequencies, which are perceived by operators as very disturbing, are also significantly reduced. A noise reduction of 10 dB is already perceived by the human ear as a halving of the noise level. With its reduction of 15 dB, Silent Cut thus has a significant impact on health and safety on the shop floor without sacrificing cutting quality.
At the heart of the Silent Cut technology is a unique combination of revolutionary plasma wear parts and advanced cutting data that reduces the operator to obtain cutting results comparable to the Contour Cut, while enjoying significantly reduced noise levels. The result is better ergonomics for operators, significantly improving their well-being as well as safety in the workplace. The new technology can also be used in existing machines.
