"Our continued drive for innovation and service make the difference."

Volvo is one of the world's best-known manufacturers of trucks, and its largest and most important factory is in Ghent. Not entirely unexpectedly, the first fully Belgian-produced electric truck was presented there this summer. With this milestone, Volvo is further strengthening its ambition to become climate neutral by 2040. "Sustainability has not been a hollow concept for us for some time. We are a trendsetter and want to remain so," states the management of Volvo-Automobilia.

The electrification of vehicles is progressing systematically. For a long time, the logistics sector lagged behind, but thanks to the efforts of various manufacturers, this is gradually changing. Volvo in particular wants to play a pioneering role in the e-truck market.

"Electric vehicles are an important part of the group's strategy to meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions. The ambition is to offer only products and solutions with net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. We have also set a sharp target for trucks, and we want half of all models sold to be electric by 2030."

So whether in an urban environment or for international transport, a Volvo truck is always a good choice.

Economical, comfortable and reliable

Volvo is not at its experimental stage and has been making its fleet more sustainable for some time. With fuel-efficient powertrains and chassis configurations, it previously succeeded in reducing CO2 emissions from fuel trucks. "Fuel still makes up a large part of the costs for transport companies. This is precisely why we continue to do everything we can to find new ways to reduce the consumption of our trucks. Take, for example, our Volvo FH with I-Save technology and D13TC engine. The pistons of this engine have a corrugated interior, which improves combustion and increases efficiency, making better use of every drop of fuel."

Besides economy, Volvo also places great importance on the driver environment, its safety and its productivity. "Several cabs are available for each model, all of which are very comfortable and equipped with user-friendly control software. For example, functions can be controlled via buttons on the steering wheel, with voice control, or via the touch screen and screen control panel. This allows the driver to keep his attention on the road at all times. Finally, to avoid accidents, an ingenious safety system was also incorporated. In doing so, we approach safety from different perspectives, both inside and outside the truck."

Volvo-Automobilia markets 400 trucks a year from its branches in Zarren, Ostend, Pittem and Ypres.

The added value of Automobilia

So whether it's an urban environment, intended for international transport or lifting and loading containers, a Volvo truck is always a good choice. "Our range is wide and the possibilities are virtually endless. So it should come as no surprise that we are well positioned in the market. Only, to cash in on your market position you need more than that. Service is also essential, and this is precisely where we at Automobilia are strong. We listen, always work solution-oriented, and help customers in making the right, future-oriented choice."

That this approach works is proven by the figures from Automobilia. From the branches in Zarren, Ostend, Pittem and Ypres, an average of 400 trucks are put on the market every year. In addition, the car dealer also has a large regional market share. "Our market share in terms of trucks over 16 tons is 9% higher than the national average. That is definitely a strong result in these uncertain times. But I have no illusions. It is thanks to the commitment of our employees, who go to great lengths every day to provide excellent service to our customers, that we are able to present these figures. They are the key to our success."
