Good news for those looking for the latest materials, flexible solutions, innovative production technologies and supply chain strategies for the manufacturing industry: from August 30 to September 2, the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht is once again hosting TechniShow, once again linked to ESEF Maakindustrie. Live demonstrations, educational sessions and workshops, a 3D printing square, guided tours, a Formula 1 simulator and tire-changing competition, the Innovation Awards...: the ideal opportunity to discover and meet.
Those who visit the TechniShow are at once up to date with the trends and developments within the manufacturing industry. During the previous edition, in 2018, more than 400 exhibitors and nearly 42,700 professional visitors signed up. Naturally, industry association FPT-VIMAG, brand owner of the fair, and Jaarbeurs Utrecht as organizers want to surpass those figures this year.
"It is high time to organize another large, future-proof physical event for and together with the sector. It has been four and a half years since the market came together on this scale to discover innovations, sustainable solutions and challenges for the future," says Jennie Elzinga, Head of Project at the Jaarbeurs. André Gaalman, president of FPT-VIMAG, adds: "Despite the pandemic, production technology has continued to evolve. We can discover these innovations together in one location. This fair therefore comes at a crucial time, and with the renewed layout of the halls, the offer is presented even more clearly."
When the fair was launched, there were some negative noises, especially about the timing, so just after the summer vacations. But today, exhibitors and visitors alike are looking forward with anticipation to the Benelux trade fair for the manufacturing industry: machining CNC machines, measurement technology & vision, 3D printing, production automation, machine tools, workshop and assembly technology, sawing, drilling and conventional machining, surface technology, joining technology, sheet and tube machining, as well as an extensive peripheral program. Four guided tours on machining, sheet metal working, 3D and production automation, respectively, will be organized on August 31. The Innovation Awards in the Smart Manufacturing, Digital Factory and Flexible Manufacturing categories will also be presented.
The floor plans for TechniShow and ESEF were announced at the end of April. Indeed, both exhibitions will again be organized in parallel, but on one side of the complex. The entrance of TechniShow will be in Hall 8, that of ESEF in Hall 10. At Halls 9 and 11, there will be opportunities to walk over from one fair to the other. Hall 7 is dedicated to sheet and tube machining, while Hall 8 will include surface technology, conventional machining and assembly. Via Hall 9 around machine tools, one arrives at topics such as 3D printing, measurement technology & vision in Hall 11. Part of that hall is also the mecca of CNC machines, and this continues into Hall 12, which also focuses on product automation.
"3D printing remains an important theme. After all, we want to make the Dutch manufacturing industry even more aware of the opportunities this technology offers to increase competitiveness. The 3D printing plaza is one such initiative to highlight the opportunities," André Gaalman states. "Moreover, we believe that a trade fair visit should also include a particle of 'fun'. That's why visitors can get behind the wheel of a Formula 1 simulator and race each other on a circuit. Or they can challenge each other in a race to change tires on Formula 1 cars. The fastest of the day goes home with a prize. We also focus on the students, who can discover a lot of information from the lessons in practice with a visit."
