New CEO for Rittal and Rittal Software & Service appointed on Feb. 1

Since Feb. 1, 2021, German Markus Asch has been CEO of Rittal International, the leading system supplier of, among other things, industrial cabinet systems, power distribution and IT infrastructure. Rittal is virtually active in all sectors, but mainly in the automotive industry, energy production, machine and plant construction, as well as in the IT and telecom sectors. Markus Asch brings years of management experience and a sense of innovation to his new position and, as the new CEO, will be responsible for more than 10,000 employees and 58 subsidiaries worldwide. 

For the past 25 years, Markus Asch has been deputy CEO and CTO at Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG, the market leader in cleaning equipment. Under his leadership, Kärcher Professional was able to develop into a technology and market leader in the B2B sector. During his career, Asch accelerated the development of modular and scalable product and solution platforms. He also successfully developed the sales organization to approach new customers and markets.

Innovation

On February 1, 2021, Professor Friedhelm Loh, owner and CEO of the Friedhelm Loh Group, appointed Markus Asch (49) as CEO of Rittal International and chairman of the board of directors of Rittal GmbH & Co. Rittal International is the largest company in the Friedhelm Loh Group. "Asch brings many years of experience in the management of globally successful family-owned companies to this challenging new position," says Professor Friedhelm Loh. "He has strong technical insight and pursues innovation and renewal at all times. He focuses visibly on the customer and thinks and acts from a global perspective."

Markus Asch is responsible for Rittal's many major Business Units that range from solutions for enclosures, power distribution, climate control, IT infrastructure to software and service. In addition, Asch is now also CEO of Rittal Software & Service (RSS) International and its subsidiaries Eplan and Cideon. "I am always looking for innovation and feel completely in place. All these companies of the Friedhelm Loh Group optimize their customers' business processes and also direct future business areas. They do this by means of high-tech software solutions, systems engineering and automation machines in control and switching technology," says Markus Asch. "I look forward to working with Professor Loh and the staff of this impressive global market leader. I am very proud that as the new CEO I can help Rittal International develop further."
