Hypertherm introduces new wear part sets for XPR cutting systems

Hypertherm, manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, has begun shipping wear part kits for the company's XPR X-Definition™ plasma systems. These new wear parts starter sets are available with or without a torch, for cutting applications on carbon steel and non-ferrous metals. The kits contain different wear parts to allow cutting at different current strengths for all types of gas processes supported by the XPR170™ and XPR300™ systems.

The wear parts are manufactured using several patent-pending technologies to improve the life and cut quality of the wear parts. Examples include Cool nozzle™ and Arc response technology™. The latter protects wear parts from the negative impact of load removal errors, which occur regularly in real-world cutting operations. By reducing the impact of load removal errors, XPR wear parts can last up to three times longer than wear parts from older generation systems.

In addition, XPR wear parts are specially designed with ease of use in mind. An EasyConnect™ feature allows operators to quickly insert the torch hose into the torch connection console without using tools. In addition, a QuickLock™ electrode, also patent-pending, allows for easy quarter-turn tightening to further reduce setup time. Another new design feature is a quick-change torch that allows an operator to quickly change torches with just one hand.

"Whether you're cutting carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum, these new starter kits make it easy for XPR customers to get all the wear parts they need in one convenient kit," said Martin Geheran, product manager for plasma torches and wear parts. "We think our customers will also find the kits that come with a torch convenient, as this gives them the ability to pre-stock a second torch, or even multiple torches, with wear parts so that swaps can be made more quickly."

Hypertherm designs and manufactures industrial cutting products for use in a variety of industries, including shipbuilding, manufacturing and automotive repair. The product line includes cutting systems, in addition to CNC motion and height controls, CAM nesting software, robotics software and wear parts. Hypertherm systems are known for their performance and reliability, resulting in increased productivity and profitability for hundreds of thousands of businesses. The company's reputation for cutting innovation dates back 50 years, when Hypertherm invented plasma cutting by water injection in 1968. The company is fully co-owned and has more than 1,400 employees with operations and representation by partners around the world. Learn more at www.hypertherm.com.
