Laser cutting that pushes the boundaries of efficiency and sustainability

Yamazaki Mazak will unveil two new groundbreaking laser cutting machines for tube, profile and sheet metal cutting at EuroBLECH: the FG-400 NEO and Optiplex 3015 NEO 15 kW. They both use Mazak's innovative Laser Beam Shaping technology that takes fiber laser cutting quality and efficiency to new heights again.

Both machines on display at EuroBLECH 2022 use Mazak's revolutionary Laser Beam Shaping and fiber technologies. Cutting quality is achieved by controlling the power density of the laser beam, while a wide range of different materials and thicknesses can be accommodated by adjusting the diameter and shape of the beam.

The fiber technology can provide significant cost and energy savings (up to 60% compared to previous models), while offering unsurpassed cutting speed and quality for both thick and thin materials. As a leading manufacturer of machine tools and laser cutting machines, Mazak is strongly committed to reducing its carbon footprint and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, as highlighted by the company's "Go Green" initiative.

FG-400 NEO

The FG-400 NEO can streamline production and improve performance by performing multiple processes in one machine, including 3D cutting, tapping, drilling, chamfering and flow drilling. The system is ideally suited for large pipes and profiles, including round, square and rectangular cross-sections, as well as H-, I- and L-beams. Thanks to the combination of a brand new 3D laser head with A-axis, B-axis and fiber laser technology, it can facilitate the stable machining of complex shapes and highly reflective materials, such as copper and brass. The four-claw/clamp system provides additional stability, preventing material distortion during the process. To complement the machine, Mazak has developed a range of features, including part nesting and tool simulation, which reduces set-up times to allow for a continuous production process.

Optiplex 3015 NEO
Thanks to the combination of a brand new 3D laser head with A-axis, B-axis and fiber laser technology, the OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW can facilitate the stable machining of complex shapes and highly reflective materials, such as copper and brass.

OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW

The OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW is the latest development in the OPTIPLEX 2D laser cutting machine series. Thanks to a combination of MAZATROL SmoothLx CNC control, MCT3 cutting head and a wide choice of functional options, the machine delivers a highly accurate and stable production process. The model benefits from a high degree of automated features to deliver faster setup times (up to 95% compared to standard laser machines), including automatic nozzle change, as well as automatic focus detection and positioning to improve ease of use and optimize piercing.

Large front and side access doors improve accessibility to the work area and simplify loading and unloading. The Nozzle Auto Centering Camera displays the nozzle location on the CNC screen, allowing the operator to adjust the torch, while the nesting function automatically determines how parts should be arranged for optimal cutting in residual material.

Automation

The OPTIPLEX 3015 NEO 15 kW shown at EuroBLECH will be equipped with the CST 3015 automation system with a single tower mounted above the change table. This automation system CST 3015 has eight individual drawers, each with a load capacity of up to 3,000 kg, and uses a vacuum-based loading system of sheet metal and automatic unloading of the machined workpieces.

Yamazaki Mazak can be visited during EuroBLECH in Hall 11, at booth D26.
