Damping technology for a resounding sound and against "bad vibrations

That true music lovers are therefore critical also knows the engineers at electronics company BaiRuiKe Technology Co. Ltd. In Shenzhen, China, they develop and produce high-quality hi-fi tube amplifiers and associated components. With the help of air spring elements from ACE Stoßdämpfer, disturbing environmental vibrations that affect sound quality are now a thing of the past.

To introduce visitors from around the world to the Chinese manufacturer's audio equipment, they were welcomed into a specially equipped room. In the adjacent workshop, however, stamping work was being carried out that caused noise pollution. Worse than the noise pollution, however, were the low-frequency interferences being transmitted to the equipment. BaiRuiKe's engineers wanted to do everything they could to stop these interferences. After all, they were in the middle of an important development and test phase for the new high-end device EIZZ, which they wanted to present to the public at trade shows. With ACE Stoßdämpfer, they quickly found a company that could fix the problem.

Air spring elements prevent unwanted vibrations

BaiRuiKe Technology's engineers chose a trading partner of ACE Stoßdämpfer with a sales office in Changzhou, near Shanghai. The first step was to isolate the vibration frequency of 20 Hz. This is the lowest frequency that human hearing can perceive. Two PLM-1 type air spring elements were used for this purpose. Normally, these components ensure that vibrations do not take hold on, for example, test rigs and machines with high-tech powers. A 1:1 ratio between horizontal and vertical eigenfrequency ensures high stability and very good service life. With a low eigenfrequency of 3 Hz, they are used in industry as low-frequency vibration and shock isolators at measuring tables, ultra-sensitive test stands, high-speed presses and in production plants. With eight different versions, available from stock and suitable for weights from 45 to 8,800 kg, vibrations of individual devices as well as complete plants can be isolated and leveled by means of an integrated valve. Used as a vibration damper, the internal air chamber provides isolation from as little as 5 Hz. The PLM-1 air spring elements are suitable for the lower weight classes starting at 45 kg. Therefore, four of these elements were used for the test setup of EIZZ's hi-fi tube amplifiers.

Although the first impression of the tube amp was positive thanks to the air spring elements, BaiRuiKe wanted to see this confirmed objectively. This is where the app VibroChecker Pro came into the picture. This is a further development of the free app VibroChecker that ACE launched in 2014. Whereas the free VibroChecker quickly and easily measures vibrations at machines and parts up to a frequency of 50 Hz, VibroChecker Pro records vibrations at a frequency of 1 to 8,000 Hz. This is possible by simply connecting the external usb sensor Digiducer 333D01 to an iPhone or iPad via the lightning or usb interface and activating it via the app.
After the successful measurement, the results could easily be saved or emailed to one's own desktop, one's department or to customers. Convinced by the results, BaiRuiKe Technology has been using ACE's type PLM-1 air spring elements ever since, not only in the EIZZ tube amplifiers in the demo room and at trade shows: the vibration isolating components are now also offered as accessories to custom-made hi-fi systems, together with the app VibroChecker Pro. This ensures that the sounds of pop classics are transmitted as beautifully and vibration-free as, for example, Richard Wagner's operas.
