Bridge saws, polishers and water jet cutters: always a suitable solution at hand

A targeted acquisition is often an ideal investment to strengthen a firm's market position in the short term. Thus GMM, the Italian manufacturer of bridge saws and polishing machines, took over one of the world's leading manufacturers of waterjet cutting machines last year with Techni Waterjet Pty Ltd. of Melbourne. Granite & Marble Technology (GMT) of Ronse is responsible for distribution in the Benelux.

GMM is a specialist in the development and production of high-quality three to five-axis bridge saws, edging and surface polishing machines. Since its founding in 1993, the GMM group has delivered a total of more than 9,000 machines to customers in more than eighty countries worldwide. The company has its own subsidiaries in Hong Kong, USA and China, among others, and chose targeted acquisitions to expand its product range and improve service.

Waterjet cutting machines from Australia

Since June 2018, Australia's Techni Waterjet Pty Ltd, one of the global market leaders in waterjet cutting machines for metal, stone and glass, also belongs to the GMM Group. TWJ provides complete waterjet cutting solutions with in-house developed and patented technologies, such as a revolutionary electric servo pump and a five-axis cutting head. "These unique, innovative and high-quality waterjet cutting machines will allow us to significantly strengthen our market position," stated Corrado Franzi, founder and CEO of the GMM group at the time of the acquisition. Darren Reukers, co-founder and managing director of TWJ, complemented: "Together, we want to provide the best solution for cutting and finishing materials with an emphasis on innovation, reliability and low operating costs for the end user."

GMT as a distributor for the Benelux

GMM TWJ remains heavily committed to the development of new products and services, guaranteeing customers even better service and continuing to strengthen their market position. Granite & Marble Technology (GMT) distributes GMM's machines in the Benelux. "We offer a suitable solution for any stone or metal processing company. Our range includes bridge saws, polishing machines, CNC machine tools and installations for water treatment, as well as the corresponding tools," states business manager Joeri Decatelle.
