The 2022 editions of TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie will be opened by ASML CEO Peter Wennink and FME president Theo Henrar. The duo will welcome the audience of the largest b2b event for the manufacturing industry in the Benelux on August 30 at Royal Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Peter Wennink, as top boss at the leading Dutch high-tech company, has been responsible for developing machines for the semiconductor industry for more than two decades. ASML is seen internationally as one of the most important high-tech companies in the world. But so is it for the manufacturing industry in the Benelux. The Veldhoven-based company maintains an ecosystem of suppliers. According to estimates, every job at ASML creates two or three jobs at suppliers.
Wennink is flanked by Theo Henrar. He was elected chairman of FME a year ago. The Amsterdam native was board chairman of Tata Steel Netherlands/Corus Netherlands from 2008, as Sales Director responsible for the distribution units in Continental Europe and the United Kingdom and for Tata Steel's Packaging and Building Systems sales sectors in Europe.
According to George Wels, director (a.i) of FPT-Vimag, this swell delegation at the opening of TechniShow is proof that mechanical engineering and production technology are held in high regard. "FPT-Vimag, responsible for TechniShow for seventy years, unites entrepreneurs who are at the forefront when it comes to innovation. Our members provide the (inter)national manufacturing industry with technology and knowledge needed to produce efficiently and ensure its competitive position. That a high-tech machine builder like ASML opens our event makes us even more proud than we already were of our sector."
