AMB writes new chapter of success story

"'Preparations for the fair are in full swing.' We really missed being able to say these words." From September 13 to 17, the AMB, the trade fair for the machining industry, will add a new chapter to its success story in the halls of Messe Stuttgart, after two years of (relative) silence. The exhibitors will again be ready to welcome visitors, demonstrate innovative developments as well as make new contacts.

Everything suggests that the AMB will once again ensure crowded halls and a pleasant bustle at Messe Stuttgart.

We are in early May when AMB organizers provide a new update. At the last edition in 2018, a record number of 1,553 exhibitors signed in and more than 91,000 visitors were recorded. More than three months before the opening of this edition, nearly 1,100 exhibitors have already signed up and new registrations are still coming in every week. The vast majority of regular participants once again choose the AMB, and the organizers can only be proud of that. The ratio of national to international exhibitors already reflects the highly international character of the trade fair. Some 31% of all exhibitors come from abroad, which is in line with the figures of previous editions. These companies come mainly from Italy, Switzerland and Spain. In any case, it is already worth planning the trip to Stuttgart now to discover the latest developments in the metalworking industry, meet existing relations again and seek new partners.

'Analogue Meets Digital'

The gross area available on the grounds of Messe Stuttgart is 120,000 m², the net area to be allocated to exhibitors is 73,000 m². The organization of the AMB is confident that the remaining area on the exhibition floor will soon be allocated and that visitors can therefore once again count on a fully occupied site and halls, with a pleasant bustle around the novelties in the areas of precision, cutting and grinding tools, turning and milling machines, sawing, drilling and gearing machines, grinding and deburring machines, measuring and control technology, software, engineering and control, components, accessories and services, among others.

Since both exhibitors and visitors were satisfied with the theme-oriented layout of the halls, this concept will be retained and was further optimized. The manufacturers of spindles are moving from the gallery in the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1) to the Oskar Lapp Hall (Hall 6), while the themes of gear cutting and surface treatment will be housed together in Hall 5.

Exhibitors there will present their latest innovative developments: machines, tools, measurement and control technology, automation and digitalization.

The biggest change for exhibitors and visitors is the expansion of the digital offering, which will be seamlessly linked to the physical event. In the first place, we are thinking of the online exhibitor overview, in which, in addition to static information, videos, animations, product brochures and the like can be made available for download, and interactive content or social media elements can be integrated. During web sessions leading up to the fair, exhibitors could/can give a preview of what they will be showing at the fair.

Even with regard to the fringe program, the fair's organizers are sailing a digital course, as all presentations in the Trend Lounge (ICS foyer) will be recorded and subsequently made available on demand. Topics include additive manufacturing, metal as a material, industrial safety, digital networking ... There are already enough highlights to make the AMB another attractive event, well worth a visit.
