A new CEO at Gibas

After 36 years, Steven Gijsen is stepping down as CEO of Gibas. He looks back with great pride on all that has been accomplished during this period. "Gibas has transformed from a small machine dealer into a healthy company that offers very nice technical solutions."

As of January 1, Stefaan Poppe has been appointed as CEO. "I am sure that Stefaan with his experience and heart for the business will be a very good and reliable CEO and wish him a lot of success" says Steven Gijsen.

After 25 years at Gibas, Stefaan is certainly no stranger to employees, clients and partners. He started as an Engineer, progressed via business unit manager to Managing Director of Gibas Automation. And now CEO. Stefaan Poppe: "Once again Gibas is giving me confidence and a great challenge. I look forward to working with the entire team to provide Gibas with a bright future."

"With a strong representation on the Dutch market, among other things, I want to focus on where my roots are; the Belgian market. Gibas has naturally built a loyal clientele there over the past decades. We want to serve them even better, but also further expand them. A local branch with local service and sales colleagues must support this ambition. We are therefore busy looking for and designing this.'' Says Stefaan.

Gibas is a full-service family company that supplies and implements machine tools and automation, among other things, specially tailored to the needs and wishes of the customer. In recent years, they have grown into a full-service company for the metalworking and manufacturing industry in the Benelux.
